The Americano

I was reading From a View To a Kill and I really liked the description of Bond ordering an Americano at the café Fouquet's
"In cafés you have to drink the least offensive of the musical comedy drinks that go with them, and Bond always had the same thing - an Americano - Bitter Campari, Cinzano, a large slice of lemon peel and soda. For the soda, Bond always stipulated Perrier, for in his opinion expensive soda water was the cheapest way to improve a poor drink".
I have to say, I have started to enjoy this drink especially before dinner or when it's hot outside. I haven't ever ordered one, but I like to make them and sit back on my patio and think of James Bond in a café in Paris.

There's a very cool cocktail recipe channel I follow on YouTube called Distinguished Spirits, mainly for the history/background, execution and to the point presentation it has.
Discovered him through a playlist he made called Cocktails & Pussy Galore and it's definitely worth checking out if you were wondering how to make it and a host of other of Bond's cocktails.

I also love the Negroni, but it packs a sneaky punch. It's significantly more of a refreshing drink with the soda instead of the Gin.
