It looks an amazing building and the story of the effort
Needed to build it is astounding.

Wow that looks fantastic! I love the way they’ve displayed everything, it’s all so stripped down and and basic. Wish the exhibit was a little closer to my neck of the woods!

Thanks for the great pictures DZ — just watched the video as well, I really like the blandness strangely enough.

Would have been good to get some close ups of the props, dunno about anyone else but the pics are kinda blurry/pixilated.

Maybe you should save up for a new camera Dave?

Looking forward to seeing some better, and closer, photos of the props. They seem to be displayed nicely and apparently you can get up close to take photos. No offence, David. The shots are appreciated but... --Ed

    Maybe it's just me but we seem to have seen it all before but done much better at Bond in Motion and Designing 007. The only exhibit which has not been dug up previously appears to be the TSWLM ski pole prop. The graphic for the Walther PPKS has a lanyard loop behind the magazine finger spur where the physical screen prop does not. To travel all that way to see what on the surface look like empty spaces? is not for me, it's too damn bland! however thank you David for sharing your Elements Experience! -{

Perhaps with the 50th anniversary of On Her Majesty's Secret Service nearly upon us, an exhibit/experience at Piz Gloria may have been a better venue choice for such an event? {[]

Did Meg give any indication of how they chose what to show? There doesn't really seem to be any prevailing theme.

As she walked around she discussed two themes....one was to show the evolution of a similar props, such as how the grappling hook gadgets have changed, and then a theme around scaling or mountain aspects....again a hook, ski pole, grappling etc.....

I'm trying to get my head around this statement. Granted there is a link between the piton gun in the Goldfinger pre-titles sequence and the piton gun in the Goldeneye pre-titles sequence however the Ski pole gun from The Spy Who Loved Me pre-titles sequence was just that a ski pole gun unless the "pre-titles sequence" is the link? At least the watch from The World Is Not Enough had a piton in it!
Snooper from A View To A Kill does not appear to have anything in common with the PPKS from Skyfall or the Golden Gun from TMWTGG or indeed Brosnan's glasses from TWINE. There is a link between the glasses in TWINE, the grenade from Tomorrow Never Dies, the pen from Goldeneye and indeed the 300M from SPECTRE ...all explosive detonators! although I'm not 100% convinced that particular link was deliberate? as most gadgets in a Bond tend to go bang!

I have to agree with PMJB on this one, there is no clear prevailing theme especially when you consider that Elements is SPECTRE themed :s

David, as I am currently on holiday in Italy and heading back in few days for home / Holland, I am thinking on visiting Solden on the way home. Already visted Designing Bond in Rotterdam and in London Bond in Motion. Do you feel there is added value in 007 Elements Solden.

Perhaps any body else got some view/ advice?
this never happened to the other fellow

I was near Sölden last week so dropped in for a visit, whilst doing a bit of mountain biking, so no need to wait for the snow to visit.

Missed one of the 007 cable cars so took a standard one to the top, but have to say I enjoyed it.

Ignoring the fact people are getting caught up in the props, I thought the way the exhibition was set up was great going from room to room and seeing how they filmed the scenes in the Sölden area, as well as seeing the building used in the film.

One of the Range Rover stunt cars is on display at the middle station of the cable car and one of the Defenders is on display at the top.

I'm sure some will find it disappointing whilst others will love it, I personally wouldn't travel from the UK for a weekend if it was the main reason, but if a few hours up the road it's definitely worth doing. Took us about an hour to go through from start to finish. I'll sort some pictures when I get home and get them off the camera.
