Could this be the location of this scientist lab?....
I of course have no way of knowing, but my gut says if we have scenes set at Porton Down, there's a much greater chance the scientist is connected to that...
I only have access to clips. Are you saying it's not pure comedy, and has moody serious points mixed in? I just don't get it.
It's a drama as well, and is brilliant, yes. As well as being incredibly funny at times.
But thanks for confirming that you'd write something off based on almost no knowledge or experience at all; just as suspected 8-)
Such an entitled outlook as that is I'm sure the appeal of the show. I don't owe Ms. Fleabag a damn thing. ) It's up to the artist to hook their audience. I gave her a chance and she made me vomit.
What we know for sure: In Bond 25, Lashana Lynch will play a character called Nomi who works at MI6. She is a black woman. She will appear in scenes in Jamaica and London.
What the rumor (from an "anonymous source" at Eon reported by one British tabloid) says: At some point in Bond 25, Nomi will be identified as 007 by M. It will be a "popcorn dropping moment" in the movie.
What the clickbait headlines across the internet are saying: "007 is now a black woman! And we've added a bunch more made up crap about what that means for the franchise!"
What the self-described "not PC but definitely not sexist/racist/homophobic" Bond fans are saying:
-Bond has to be a straight white man!
-007 and James Bond are the same thing!
-The franchise is dead to me!
-This will be a box office disaster!
-The PC libtards are destroying everything!
-Eon is raping Fleming's legacy!
-What's next? A transgender Asian Bond?
-Let's make Black Panther and Shaft white!
-I'm not a triggered snowflake! YOU'RE a triggered snowflake!
What the "woke" non-Bond fans are saying:
-About time Bond was black!
-About time Bond was a woman!
-About time Bond was a black woman!
-This is progress, but when do we see a gay Bond?
-I never watched a Bond film before, I know nothing about the history of the franchise, but I'm a fan now!
-007 and James Bond are the same thing!
-Anyone who has even the slightest issue with 007 being something other than a straight white male is a racist/sexist/homophobe!
What the people directly involved in the making of Bond 25 are saying: nothing.
IMO they really shouldn't change the sex of 007. They also shouldn't make him "likeable", or a "role model". He is a spy assassin so the idea that he should be PC is hilarious in the first place.
If they have Lynch actually become the next "Bond" then the series is dead to me. It's on its last legs anyway IMO. Spectre was a bit of a joke, and Skyfall was a disappointment. There was so much promise with Casino Royale and then it's been downhill since there.
I agree, but nothing indicates that Lynch will be the next Bond. However there's a good chance she'll be 007 for parts of Bond25 . I not sure how I feel about that - it depends on how it's done.

And as much as I wanted to see Bond re-cast for this film, I’m exhausted just thinking about how that is going to play out.

How I see it playing out:
Over the next couple of weeks, overly dramatic people will leave a lot of nasty, ill-informed, reactionary comments wherever they think other people will see them. Maybe we'll see a petition to "keep Bond white!". Or a campaign to sabotage the film's Rotten Tomato score. Eventually this will quiet down as most of these people find something else to get angry about.
The Bond fans with some common sense will mostly ignore all this noise and continue to be excited by the new set photos, teasers, trailers and other official publicity and announcements. We'll discuss those things like we always do.
Bond 25 will appear in cinemas in April, 2020. Some of us will love it, some of us will think it's okay, and some of us will hate it. If the rumor about Lynch being 007 is true, Nomi's character arc will be wrapped up in this film.
I'm guessing sometime in late 2021 or early 2022, we'll start to hear about the search for the next Bond actor. The internet will once again fill up with clickbait headlines about how "Bond should be black/female/gay this time". A bunch of random actors (both white and non-white, male and female, straight and gay) will be mentioned as being in contention for the role. Overly dramatic people will make new nasty, ill-informed, reactionary comments because ... reasons.
The new Bond actor will probably be announced sometime in late 2022 or early 2023 and will probably be a British white male in his 30s.

That about sums it up. It's amazing how some folks can get so incredibly riled up about something that shows up in the Tabs.
Not gonna let all this ruin my guarded optimism for Bond 25.

Do we actually know that for sure? She was present on the MI6 set to meet Prince Charles but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean her character was going to be there.
It is just my own opinion of course, but I feel James Bond should always be white and British. Of course you could have another agent with the same number after Bond has retired who is black or a woman, but as pointed out by others, it would not then be James Bond.....
I cannot remember, but did Ian Fleming ever mention the history of the 00 section in any books? I cannot recall from listening to the audiobooks. Was James Bond the first agent to have that number or did he take it over from another agent?
Fleabag is the lowest common denominator of comedy and writing
Hmm. Have you seen much of it? I think it's pretty stunning stuff. I know this is off-topic but I'm not sure how you could find it lowest common denominator. It's not exactly Adam Sandler: it was affecting and at times utterly sublime. The S2 opener in particular I found to be a bit of a masterpiece of writing.
I recently watched both series of Fleabag and found a lot of it absolutely hilarious. Wouldn't mind if Phoebe Waller-Bridge was actually in B25 as well.

I don't recall Fleming going into any detail about the 00 section, but I believe 007 was always Bond as far as those original books are concerned. Then he later was designated 7777 briefly. I could be way off, but I think the concept of another agent having the 007 number only started recently with one of the continuations novels.

She's a great actress. Might make a good Q if Whishaw leaves.

I'm pretty sure you're right; interestingly Eon considered a Bond Begins reboot for the film which became Living Daylights in 87- in the original script by Richard Maibum a young Lt. Bond, just out of the Navy, is taken under the wing of the old 007, a man called Burton Trevor. Trevor is killed during the mission and of course Bond takes on the 007 mantle.
I wonder how all of these fans who can't handle the idea of 007 being someone other than Bond would have reacted to that.
From memory I don't think Fleming says much about the Double 0s apart from there's only ever three of them at a time (I think), and the others seem to get killed fairly regularly!
Do we actually know that for sure? She was present on the MI6 set to meet Prince Charles but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean her character was going to be there.
As far as I know, it has been confirmed that Nomi works for MI6. But you are correct: I am assuming she is the London scenes because of her presence in the on-set photos.

To answer one of your questions: Fleming assigned Bond a new number (7777) in YOLT. But he became 007 again in TMWTGG. Anthony Horowitz wrote Forever and a Day as a prequel to Casino Royale. In that book, Bond investigates the death of the previous agent 007 and take his number for the mission. Since the novel was approved by the Fleming Estate, I assume it's consider part of the official literary canon.
I remember when Roger Moore died my phone was blowing up with text messages because friends knew I was a fan.
The same thing has been happening the last 2 days with "Did you see who the new James Bond is going to be!?"
Ugh...
I've had the same thing.......frustrating
I feel lucky. Only two friends have asked me about Lynch. I was getting never-ending condolences about Roger Moore, and people were sending me the news because they wanted to be the ones to break it to me.
I would be glad if this were true, because, while Scotland is nice, we have very recently seen it in Skyfall. Whereas, has bond ever been to Norway?
Really really hoping it will be Shatterhand's castle, I was hoping for the garden of death so much, then I realised that it doesn't seem to be happening, but now it seems that some of that hope is renewed. I don't wanna dissapoint myself though, but still definitely hoping for a garden of death.
I mean, Shatterhand was a rumoured title, Blofeld is back, and now there's gonna be a castle... surely it's time for the castle/garden of death?
Or should I stop dreaming?
Obviously Japan is where Shatterhand's castle is supposed to be, and that would be brilliant, but as I said in an earlier post, I would be thrilled to see the garden of death on the big screen either way, wherever it is.
Memorable set pieces and memorable locations really do it for me.
Looking again at the two videos, the STV tweet video shows two black SUVs following the yellowish SUV while the Atlantic road filming has two silver Range Rover Evoques, I think. I'm still guessing that that yellowish SUV is only driven in one country. It's not clear to me in the two videos if they are actually chasing the yellow SUV or if it's a convoy like Spectre's Austria scenes.
We didn't get a clapperboard with the Atlantic road filming so it's anyone's guess where it comes in the film. I'd imagine we'll get a Scotland filming related clapperboard eventually.
