It seems that yet another Craig-Bond film will be revenge-based...which I suppose is inevitable, based on the setup in SP - that (and backstory) has been Craigger's stock in trade during his tenure, so perhaps it's apropos that his swan song* close that loop?
Granted, this would only be his second direct revenge film...but that would still be a record for any one Bond actor.
At any rate, it will be interesting to see how they handle Bond Actor #7, whenever he appears.

The most interesting thing about NTTD is getting it over with. What a slog this has been since Spectre came out. I just can’t get excited for this film.

Agreed that it's been a long turnaround, which is frustrating, but I'm always twelve years old again when I anticipate a new Bond film :007)

I imagine the drama of casting the new 007 will be long and tedious - could be a killer wait compared to even DCs film rollout
Yeah...but the arguing and speculation about who should/will get cast does help pass the time ) …And then, of course, the histrionics and hand-wringing once the announcement is made!

I’m afraid you are right about that. 2025 is my best guess.
When this happens depends on if Daniel Craig is dong Bond 25, and if he will be doing two films back-to-back. However unlikely it seems, it could happen.

I feel similarly. Just cant seem fto generate any enthusiasm for it. Perhaps once we see a trailer it wil be different but right now its a bit 'meh' i think i was hoping that Craig would call it a day after SP and we could move on. I do think he deserves a better final outing than SP. Looking for positives...my expectations are so low that the film is unlikely to disappoint. I am more than open to being surprised.

I concur. Even with the little information we have about the film, I feel confident I will like it better than Spectre (and DAD). That’s all I can say at this point.

I know they get a lot of hate on this board, but for me the fact that Purvis & Wade wrote the original NTTD treatment/script is a big plus. They're Casino Royale was brilliant, Forster made a big mistake junking their Quantum script, and while I accept Logan did a good job with Skyfall, he should have been fired from Spectre writing duties early on when he came up with lunatic ideas like Blofeld being an African warlord.
Am I worried that NTTD has appeared to need a further two writers, at least, Scott Burns and Phoebe Waller-bridge? I see Burns role as akin to Haggis' on Casino and I think PWB was probably just brought in because all-powerful Daniel wanted her and nobody is going to say no to him, not even Babs. I think PWB did a very light polish job on the womens' dialogue. I'm also confident about the script because Fukunaga is a writer-director and clearly a very talented individual who, if he didn't massage the P&W script himself, would have worked well with Burns.
Not sure why but randomly thought of plot now, based on what I’ve seen...
Bond and Swann set off for a new life but Spectre isn’t about to let that happen (Matera)
Bond sets Swann off on her own (it’s the only way you’ll ever be safe)
Swann moves to Norway and has Bond’s kid (possibly without his knowledge)
Spectre find her and that’s the child on the ice scene, either kidnapped or killed to flush Bond out
Bond is in Jamaica and someone from 6 comes to tell him what happened
Bond goes to Cuba to find Felix for help, Spectre are waiting for him, fight ensues
Bond goes to Norway to try and find Swann, Blofeld escapes and wants rendezvous at skyfall
Bond returns to London to actually retire
Oh and I think they have been sneakily making two films here...
No idea where other big cast members fit in, presumably Armas in Cuba, Malek is some Blofeld stand in and Lynch is sent to protect Bond in Matera but fails?!
They just announced on Facebook that there will be four Astons in the movie - the DBS Superleggera is joining as well. Either the film is 95% car chases or they will just serve as background in some scenes. If its the latter it's kinda weird to announce them like they're Bond cars.
Four AMs is....a lot. The Bond cycle always goes from modesty to extravagance and excess and then back again. I thought Spectre was the “excess” in this cycle. Looks like I was wrong.
So looking past the whole Malek and Craig kissing, which sounds like a odd Bond fanfic, this article from a few days ago includes a quote from Malek, who said:
"We had this scene that was a very complicated scene, and we (Malek and Craig) were rehearsing for it with our terrific director Cary Fukunaga. We were sitting at a table [for] hours just batting about ideas back and forth, and we finally cracked this really challenging scene, and he grabbed me and picked me up." The next part describes the kiss—sorry I cut that out...wasn't relevant :007)
It's not a great deal of info but it does reveal that a scene with Malek's unnamed character and Bond is "very complicated" and "really challenging". Which makes it seem like their interaction (or at least one of their interactions) is not just a simple chat across a room etc.
Naomie Harris was hand-delivered the script for the latest Bond film, No Time To Die, but it wasn’t a studio runner or even the director who did the deed. For the latest in the ever-secretive franchise, the woman who plays Moneypenny was visited by none other than the legendary Bond producer herself, Barbara Broccoli.
So no men with briefcases handcuffed to their wrists?
“No, not quite that,” says Harris, laughing. “It was the personal touch.”
And so, straight after, she sat, read it in one go (“There was no putting it down, no stopping for anything”) and decided two things: it was very good (“It’s going to be fantastic”) and it has huge twists.
“It’s a tie-up of Skyfall and Spectre. But with massive, massive surprises that even had me like, ‘Oh, wow!’ So I think we’re going to really shock people.”
At the GQ Heroes summit in May, Harris had said, “The Bond of old, his days are numbered.” Now she’s read the script, has that proved to be the case in what might be Daniel Craig’s last outing as 007?
“I would say that he’s reconnected with his heart. We’re definitely seeing a Bond who’s more in touch with his feelings and more open to falling in love.”
The return of love interest Dr Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) from 2015’s Spectre is, therefore, no coincidence. As Harris adds, “At the end of Spectre there are women he gives his career up for: there’s no more emotional attachment than that. It’s just about moving with the times and recognising that women can no longer be seen as eye candy.”

This is just total PC bullsh*t...why can't women be seen as eye candy? Thought that was the whole point of bond movies! ) . Bond is becoming totally emasculated the way things are moving. Maybe i am not moving with the times and I'm a relic of the cold war!!
Seems fine to me. If Bond women are more like, say, the interesting and beautiful Elsa from Mission Impossible than they are like the bland, vacuous but yes, very pretty Domino (picking one at random) then I'm more than for that. Why wouldn't you want interesting characters with interpersonal relationships? If you want porn look at a website.

I tend to agree with you. But also, we haven’t had a vacuous Bond girl since Christmas Jones. It’s been five films and twenty years. And before that we’d have to go all the way back to AVTAK. So I get a little bit tired of people connected to Bond defending / being compelled to defend a manner of portraying female characters that hasn’t really been a hallmark of the franchise for a very long time.
Obviously, they are pushing the envelope with this film, trying their hardest to appeal to the broadest audience possible and being on-trend. DC also wants to leave a legacy so it will be interesting to see what develops.
I think there may be one or two things that will rile some fans in this film but no Bond film is the perfect Bond film (some come damn close). As much as portions of SP, DAD, DAF bug me. They're still Bond films and I still enjoy watching them.
Hope for Top 10 but settle for Top 25 and you can't really be too disappointed.
I wonder what "his days are numbered" means? Does it mean his days in the service are numbered, or are his days on earthg numbered?
I read it as "Bond's days of being 007 the sexist, misogynist dinosaur, (not that DC's Bond is really that), politically incorrect, disregarding authority and being a lone wolf" are numbered.

Maybe not vacuous, but not all of them have been hugely interesting, or even really believable as women I'd say. There's still been a bit of male fantasy about how they act, or just giving them a man's role with 'she' instead of 'he' in the script. Rewatching Spectre Swann is actually pretty good on that front, but she just doesn't quite have enough to do. Hopefully this one will give her more: she's potentially great.

Lashana, a man and one other figure are in a RIB, which one assumes is leaving the beach that we saw Lashana and Lea on.
The pictures are not clear so the man could be Bond and I guess Lashana and Lea have their backs to us.

Looks like it's Bond leaving the Palacio Velazquez in Cuba.
I noticed that the doors beind Bond and Prince Charles appear the same.
