Crockett & Jones Alex Limited edition

Did you know C&J produced a limited edition of the Alex model just after the JB movie was released?
The soles are different from the regular model.
The manager of the shop in London (Burlington Arcade) brought that to my attention.
Just in case, he still has a few left...They are almost all gone.

If he’s on about Dainite then he’s spouting BS. They made both leather and dainite soles up until about a year ago. Now they only do leather. Hardly limited.

The soles are not in leather or dainite.

No, they did one in city and something else too, but it didn’t sell. So it was limited as it was a failure commercially, but not in any way connected to Bond or indeed a limited edition.

If you want a true Bond C&J Alex kind of limited edition then the older Dainite versions are no longer being made and he wore those in the Skyfall action scenes. Truly, if they’re trying to sell you a limited edition Alex based upon Bond, then CAVEAT EMPTOR. Cos it’s major BS or more likely salesman patter to make you buy them.

If C&J made a limited edition, it would be in the documentation or paperwork you had with the shoes verifying the fact. I’m betting you never had that? I’d go back and roast them if that’s what they said you were getting.

Thanks for the clarification.
I think "limited run" is a better wording than "limited edition".

Yeah, that’s them. I was tempted by those as they are quite soft but hard wearing in wetter weather.
