Thank you for your reply. I spoke to CJ this morning and they say the Alex as its a leather sole and in their opinion looks better with suits rather than the rubber sole on the Norwich. So hence the post lol

This is true. The Alex are a little too formal for me. I prefer Hallams for a three piece.

Sorry, I thought you already had the shoes and were deciding which pair to go with.

Have you considered the Highbury? I think it’s the perfect shoe for formal events like weddings.
    Yes. Considerably.

I'd advise against the Norwich. It has a bit of a heavier look, and not just because of the Dainite soles. Derby shoes with more than 3 pairs of eyelets tend to look more like a utilitarian military shoe. The Highbury is a more elegant choice, though it's no longer available. The Hoxton is a similar shoe, and also similar to one of the pairs of shoes that Connery wears with the three-piece suit in Goldfinger. The Alex is great too. Asp9mm's recommendation of the Hallam is solid as well, and is similar to the shoe that Connery wears with the two-piece version of the grey glen check suit in Diamonds Are Forever.

Awesome choice Sir! I am sure you will not be disappointed when you step out at the weekend. Whilst clearly Matt S was far more eloquent in his description and alternatives, I’m pleased to have been able to ‘plant the seed’ for my favourite shoes! :))
    Yes. Considerably.
