Why was there no mention of Tracy in Diamonds are Forever?

For some reason it's never occurred to me that Bonds wife and her death gets no mention in Diamonds are Forever. OK we assume that in the pts Bond is hunting Blofeld and M alludes to this, but the only real mentions this big life event of Bonds is with him visiting her grave in fyeo and in tswlm when Bond curtly cuts off xxx for mentioning his marriage. I know daf is the comedy Bond but it seems remiss not to have Bond utter some form of line like "this is for Tracy" when he thinks he's killed Blofeld in the pts.
Was it an attempt by Sean to dismiss ohmss or something else?

I'm sure there are plenty of answers to this but I think
The producers wanted the audience to forget about
OHMSS. With even a little joke about Sean being " on
Holiday" . By starting the PTS in Japan, you could (
Some have mentioned this idea before ) assume Connery's
Bond was out for revenge for the killing of Aki in YOLT and
Not Tracy ?

Daf is a strange film to me in many ways, the way it's filmed, the change of decade etc all seems to signal the end of an era for Bond and the start of another that Roger continues as Connery starts, even the fashion is massively different even though it's only 2 years after ohmss.
I always thought putting Connery back in Japan was Cubbys way of punishing him as he hated filming yolt there so much.

It's Bob Simmons in the Japan scenes. Connery did the voiceover, though.

I just assumed it was shot somewhere other than Japan, and not seeing connery was to build up excitement after George's tenure. It's still ironic they used Japan though

When bond mentions if there's anything he can bring moneypenny back from Amsterdam and she says a diamond in a ring there is a brief pained expression on bond face for a split second

Because then they would actually have to make the film serious and put an effort in, which they didn't.

Connery did the voice overs in the PTS? It sounds like an impersonator to me.

It's him, though it is speeded up a bit.

Connery's voice always sounds much different in voice overs. I thought the same things for the pool in Thunderball.
