DAD floral shirt - the final thread

So it arrived today, I thought I‘d show some close-ups because there aren‘t any out there.

Note: The material is quite thick, thicker than you would expect judging by the movie stills. It almost comes accriss as a very soft denim. Besides the known „Brioni“-label there is one more that says „made in Italy“ with 3 white stripes.

I don't know what that symbol means. But I appreciate the confirmation that the shirt is made of linen. I always thought it looked like linen until the Propstore listing called it cotton. Auction houses have been known to be wrong (sometimes very wrong) about clothes.

Congratulations on winning the shirt! {[]

I'm happy someone on the board managed to get it.

Thanks for the extra pics of the interior of the shirt. I didn't expect it to look like that.

I hope one day replicas can be made.

Symbol appears to be a drip dry symbol.. Being linen that makes sense...

It's a bit different, and the bars are the wrong direction.

Hence "appears to be"... could mean don't wear it on a bunkbed ?

Congratulations and thanks for posting the pictures! I really liked this shirt in DAD, and always thought it made sense for Bond to wear something 'relaxed' after his imprisonment in North Korea earlier in the movie.

It's also nice that it was made by Brioni. I just checked, in the scene in the Hong Kong hotel you can even see this shirt next to the other Brioni shirts on the bed I think, it's best visible just after Bond starts talking to Chang.

I‘ve just rewatched the scene, but I honestly think it‘s just a plain french-blue shirt.

I'd also be curious about such a project...we can't just live on polos, after all... :))

A replica would be nice--this is a very hard shirt to match off the rack.

I usually try and keep links to my site in the dedicated thread here, but I thought this might help. I did a post back at the start of May on alternatives for the DAD Brioni shirt. You can see it here:

    https://www.iconicalternatives.com/2016/07/12/die-another-day-blue-cuba-shirt/

The best one I could find was from Paradise Found

But there are others in the post that are similar and have a more modern fit.

    Hope that helps!

If somebody wants to start a replica project, I could provide pictures, measurements and all other details. I would not give it out of the hand though.

Here was my review of the Paradise Found shirt with some sizing help.
Colours of the shirt still look like new after 3 years.
I really like this shirt and would recommend it as an alternative.

A bit of a bump for an old thread. I've managed to pick up the retail, long sleeved version of the shirt.

Looks like Brioni did well matching the body pattern on the various shirts, although there is variation in the collar pattern. As I recall the screen used shirt collar was almost a solid blue with a bit of the floral pattern on the rear of the neck.

That's the size label, I believe. My shirt is a size II, or "2". It has a pit to pit of 22 inches. A slim fit on me. I recall a shirt marked IV for sale a few years ago with a pit to pit of almost 25 inches.

@AugustWalker What's the length of the sleeves and the size of the hem on the sleeves? I need to get my sleeves shortened.

Wonder if either @Indy Magnoli or royale filmwear would want to take a crack at this?
