I wouldn't keep asking jared_nomak for status updates. All Tom Ford special projects have been furloughed with no foreseeable end in sight.
Optimism and Patience are virtuous, but the reality is that the weight of this pandemic has crushed many businesses, and the ones that have not gone under, have had to cut all that's "unnecessary". Basic operations are the priority. It is no exaggeration to say that Italy was decimated by Covid.
Some people ask why Tom Ford would pass on the profit they would make off these projects, but the truth is we are very low on the Tom Ford food chain. The bulk of the company's profits are found elsewhere.
As above this will be picked up again when things start moving again with Tom Ford at that time we will contact people with a view to getting all details together 👍
Assuming this project goes to the factory we're looking at €2500 which would include the original zipper that needs to be remade but what is the pricing for non EU customers?
Are we looking at the same cost for shipping as before?
I see a picture of the buttons does that mean the correct ones cannot be remade or is it just that they're out?
I realize the last 15 months has been extremely tough because of COVID and I can't speak for everyone else but my 2 cents is that I want the jacket to be screen accurate! Other than that this price increase is substantial and I will need more details before I make a final decision!
Screen accuracy is everything, if we are commiting to this project (to me). If its going to be a "sort of" replication, I personally have little interest, as you might as well order from one of the other alternatives such as magnoli or royale.
The buttons are as close as they can get and really not much different. It will be similar to the first run they made where the buttons were as similar as they could get.
shipping will be the same as before.
Non Eu customer the jacket will be around €1950.
I did suggest people would really want it to be as accurate as possible with the correct zipper, which is certainly the way I feel.
Zipper seems much bigger deal than the buttons which seem well matched, whereas zipper is a complete departure.
Would also note, much as I love several Magnoli and Royale pieces, original or first project remake are just a whole different experience in the wearing.
I agree w/ Royale- the button seems difficult to discern any difference, but the zipper is significantly different. Ultimately I’d buy either way, but I prefer the “original” zipper.
Are they limited to the standard sizes? I've been assuming they are but suppose I should have asked. If they would make tall sizes I'd be in for one in Navy.
The Harringtons are in standard Euro sizing. I have an EU 52 which is a US/UK 42.
They are a classic fit so they fit larger than Tom Ford's modern jackets. Most people who got the jacket found the sleeves a bit long. I am 6'5" and found the sleeves and body length of my 52 to fit well. I would prefer a slimmer fit, but never found the time pre-Covid to get it altered.

They can remake it but it will bump up the price or we take the alternative.
