Finally.....got a Levi’s Menlo

I’ve been after a Levi’s Menlo jacket for a long time and finally got one today :) -{

First impressions are that the sheepskin is incredibly soft and the jacket lighter than I expected.

Thanks to James Brosnan for his advice and help -{

Here’s a couple of quick photos. What do you think?

    I read somewhere that the numbers on the CW- code on one of the white labels inside the jacket indicates the year it was produced. I contacted Levi’s and they confirmed this. Two numbers indicate the week in the year and two numbers indicate the year itself.

    I second Enjoying Death... Welcome to the club ichaice. A motley global mob of dapper, rugged and stylish gents.

    Here is my own Levi's 1930s Menlo... in cognac sheep leather. I am aware it's not the screen accurate colour, but as I have always said I never aim to copy 007. I just use the franchise's extremely expensive personal stylist for free :)) . I tend to think of my style as 007-inspired.

    Love it! Congrats on the new jacket.

    I've been trying to find a size Small or X-Small of the 1930s LVC Menlo Leather Jacket and I've had no luck.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    I believe I saw one on eBay quite recently for about USD$900 in size S or M. Can't remember exactly. I'd say that's unfortunately the going rate for them now as they get rarer to find. I was lucky enough to get mine for around USD$700 IIRC but that was about 2 years ago.

    I see there is one available now that's XL but it's ludicrously priced at €1250. All I can say is happy hunting! -{

    I got one recently and I wanted to ask anyone who's had one for a while: how do they wear? It looks like the darker, for want of a better word 'crispier'(!) bits could wear off- is it hardier than it looks?

    It's by far the nicest jacket I possess, incredibly soft but tough too. I haven't had any 'crispy bit' issues at all. Granted I haven't worn it in all weathers, but it's been rained on more than once and I've taken it on a few overseas trips. It's lost that initial 'new Menlo' smell though, which is a shame, 'cos I loved that smell.
