Short Story Collection

Given that over the years several continuation authors have written short stories for magazine publication, surely it's about time IFP smashed a few heads together and issued a single volume with all of these in:

BLAST FROM THE PAST Raymond Benson
MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DOOM Raymond Benson
LIVE AT FIVE Raymond Benson
FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, JAMES Kate Westbrook
MONEYPENNY'S FIRST DATE WITH BOND Kate Westbrook

While A HARD MAN TO KILL already appeared in Danger Society: The Young Bond Dossier I wouldn't necessarily exclude it. We could even throw in Benson's throw-out THE HEART OF ERZULIE. Maybe even have a new offing from Steve Cole, Higson or Horowitz - be interesting to see if Higson could do an 'adult' Bond.

Tentative suggestion for a title? A NEST OF SPIES

Great idea! I would welcome these, as the magazines that featured the Kate Westbrook short stories are hard to find. As for the Bensons that appeared in Playboy, I actually borrowed the magazines from my public library, photocopied the stories on the spot and promptly returned them to the librarian...honest! :)) Hope IFP can and will indeed so something about properly republishing these stories in one volume.

Can you borrow Playboy at the public library in California? Incredible!

On the other hand - the local library bought the Red Sparrow trilogy just because I asked for the books, so they're nice people here too.

The short story collection idea is great, BTW. Why not ask the best fan art artists to submit work for illustrations? Each short story gets one piece of artwork. The artist might get a small sum of money for it, but given that IFP already owns the short stories that are published earlier it should be a cheap book to make. The best fan artists are very good, here are just three examples:

They used to, but no longer keep current issues. They were kept behind the librarian’s desk and restricted to adult patrons, though admittedly it took some nerve to actually request for a copy, especially when other patrons could hear you, lol.

The Union Trilogy Omnibus has Blast from the Past printed in it and The Choice of Weapons Omnibus has Live at Five and Midsummer's Night Doom in it.

this sounds like a good idea, to get some rarities back in print, in a more accessible form. I wonder if there's anything else that could go in there?
it would also be a good sampler of some of the later continuation authors. I don't think I've read any of the authors mentioned.
