Wearing bond or dc inspired items, mixing or screen look?

Just curious how you gents and ladies like to wear your bond items? Do you always recreate screen looks or do you mix and match?
I do both but like to mix it up, I’ll wear a pink orlebar brown linen shirt with Morocco style trousers with a surcingle belt and either a blue Harrington or my spectre linen style blazer.
Or a variation on daltons look in ltk with ob chinos, a dual pocket white shirt with blue espadrille a brown saffiano belt, and a linen blazer in navy or an ob blazer that’s made of their trunks material.

One of my favorite sections on iconic alternatives was ways to wear. I was just curious how you guys like to do it.

I do a but of both. I go for screen accuracy as much as I can. (So much so that my wife is able to identify most outfits now!). But sometimes I will mix and match various outfits and films. Most of my looks are Craig and Connery and there is only so many times I can wear the screen accurate look out.

Yes I hear that, my wife does that too.
I like to get full use out of my stuff, it's typically Craig and Connery looks but I dabble with all the bonds. For example for Easter I'll wear a Moore inspired outfit from fyeo. It's a short sleeve pale yellow button down shirt, with stone trousers or jeans, the Surcingle belt and either desert boots, or suede loafers, sometimes I wear khaki espadrille shoes with it.
I have many sunglasses to use so typically its op airman or some tom ford sunglasses too.

I take inspiration from Bond, but I rarely copy exact outfits. I like to add something of my own. For instance, last week I wore the Thunderball hacking jacket outfit of brown hacking jacket, fawn cavalry twill trousers and a brown grenadine tie but replaced the cream shirt with lilac and the brown suede shoes with light brown calf and added a purple silk pocket square.

Nice, I bet that looked great Matt. I have a similar outfit, but it is just a cotton herringbone jacket that is similar I have a matching vest, and original cavalry wool officers pinks I’ve had for years, typically with suede or leather Chukkas or boots, occasionally will wear with a chambray shirt or an aqua linen shirt. But usually being in the Midwest of the USA, I can only wear that during fall or cooler spring days.

I can definitely see that, I wear the polos a lot when it's spring to early fall and then wear a variety of jackets I have the k racer, a suede Morocco style, baracuta for tld, commander jacket(though in blue), and too many more.

When it's colder it's usually the royale mr white layered with the Barbour solden style or my billy Reid peacoat or Astor coat.
I'm always seem to be Craig or bond style in footwear though.

Also watches I have homages or similar looking but nothing high end as I like too many different styles.

It does seem that you can wear most bond casual outfits with denim or chinos also.

Also wanted to broach for k racer or Belstaff polyamide jacket owners, do they wear warm? I hadn't had my blue k racer out during winter took it out today in mid 70s and almost immediately started sweating a bit, which isn't normal since I'm normally cool. This one I believe is the same Craig wears it's inky blue and has a tartan blue grey type butterfly lining and a heavy chain to hang it by.

I have 2 Belstaff leather jackets (V-Racer and another) as well as 3 waxed cotton jackets. The waxed cotton, to me, wear warm. I'm here in MN and I can wear them into the 30s (fahrenheit) with some light layering underneath.

    Hello fellow Minnesotan!
I tried the barbour bedale coat to satisfy my waxed cotton jacket need, but unfortunately it just did not fit my style.

Bond has inspired me not in on screen specific looks, but some styles. I wear more sweaters now, more chinos and just got some Clarks desert boots.

I am buying more polos, and button ups too!

I was once wearing the full Skyfall lodge outfit in public. I had everything screen accurate except the points which were GAP charcoal cords instead of the dyed AllSaints. And a guy pulled me aside — a fellow Bond fan — to compliment me. He was impressed I had the actual ToKiTo and the Islays. He was friendly, but the experience made me a little self-conscious after the fact and I'm less likely to go out in full cosplay, so to speak.

Yes I have gotten by that by changing the colors. I wear chocolate brown cords, dark brown suede boots, a sky blue billyreid cashmere sweater with my navy Barbour commander jacket and usually a Barbour tartan or a charcoal grey cashmere scarf. So it’s like the same pieces but done more my way.
I feel more comfortable that way.

As much as we spend on this stuff, I opt for both simply to expand wardrobe options.

    I don't feel cosplayish at all going screen-specific though. I think I'd appreciate someone calling me out on it just for the sake of friendly conversation. -{
    I edit, therefore I am.

Being on the Eastern side of the pond I have often admired the more liberal attitude to cosplay attitude (there are the more extreme Comicon aspects of course) of those on the other side. Over here we are much more conservative in the respect, we couldn’t possibly and all that.

Reality is life’s too short and who cares if it personally makes you happy and feel good about yourself. I tend to buy SA and other colours and items from the same brand so I can mix it up. I used to weight it up often but now I couldn’t care less I just wear what I like and do have some favourite looks I can fresh from time to time for fear of wearing them out completely over time.

I once worked with a guy who took promotion because it gave him the excuse to wear stuff he loved but until that point have never felt he had the excuse to wear. I thought that quiet sad but have come across the same attitude several times.

Wear what you like and makes you happy and don’t give a stuff what others think - it’s what makes us all unique (though I did once bump into a guy in duty free in Heathrow and we were both blatantly wearing the QOS Haiti look - we both smiled, nodded and went our own way)

    Cheers :007)

    Both.

Is nice to go for a full screen look outfit at times, even if some items are just budget with no pieces actually authentic, or one piece authentic with the rest 'inspired by' or budget.

But I'm happy to mix it up too (as long as it all goes together). Or just create my own Bond look from on-screen inspiration.
