Ian Fleming As a Character In a Novel Series

I seem to remember that there were a couple of novels around the term of the century which had Ian Fleming himself as the main character.

Does anyone know about them?

I think Fleming appeared as a character in one of William Boyd's novels before he wrote Solo. That novel is called "Any Human Heart" and is a series of fictional journals set throughout the 20th century.
I haven't it read though so I couldn't tell you my thoughts.

    Found it!

Author Quinn Fawcett wrote three books with Fleming as the lead character:

    Death to Spies (2002)
    Siren Song (2003)
    Honor Among Spies (2004)

    See for details: http://commanderbond.net/2405/flemings-way.html

How, though, was the author able to write these without permission from the Fleming estate? Was that even required?
