George Lazenby’s Manager

Hi Guys,

Posting this topic to seek advice on a recent interaction I had with George Lazenbys manager that I am sincerely upset about. Long story short, I purchased an autograph from him through an email conversation and it was supposedly mailed to me via standard post and it never arrived. It’s been months now of waiting and he’s in disbelief that his attempt got lost in the mail on the way to the US. I am honestly not sure what to do anymore and I’ve been exceptionally patient, understanding and communicative about the situation. However, he hasn’t been very communicative and I thought he was going to reattempt the shipment at my request WITH shipping tracking this time, but now he won’t respond after I inquired on the status a month after we spoke on the second attempt. I am now out on the PayPal amount I sent him and I don’t have the item. As a huge fan, obviously if I am writing on this message board, this experience has been disheartening. I am even more saddened since I had just gotten back from Piz Gloria a few months before the 50th Anniversary and was hoping to obtain an item that would have immense sentimental value. Any who, has anyone had this experience with him in regards to items being lost in the mail and saying they were shipped or is this just an unfortunate circumstance?

Please, only serious responses. Not looking to cause controversy. More or less looking to confide in fellow fans.

Best,

J

    As much as I respect GL in OHMSS (my favourite movie), I'd never ever send a penny of money his way.

    Anybody who has seen the documentary (some months ago) knows exactly, whom you are dealing with or his manager(s).

    One anecdote: In the pre-internet days (we are speaking like 35-40 years ago), we had a german James Bond Club which where publishing a (copied A4) Bond magazine 4 times a year - and that was it for us fans.

    So that German James Bond Fan Club (which has been ran by a student in his parents home) made a gathering in Berlin and guest star was: George Lazenby.

    I remember that flights and accomodation (best hotel in Berlin back then) has been paid by them, I don't recall if they gave him around 2000$ extra or not.
    What I do remember is, that George after the gathering made hour-long telephonecalls from his hotelroom which added up in the thousands of $ and the poor guy had to pay for.

    Pretty sure he'll not invite Lazenby again.

    You can open an "item not received" case via PayPal, the seller needs proof that the item was shipped, PayPal will be on your side.

    Hi All,

    Appreciate everyone’s help and input here. I am happy to say that I was able to close the loop on this experience and received the item I paid for. Special thanks to Paperbill who did me a solid by reaching out on my behalf to help with the situation. Really appreciate it and I am extremely happy with the signed OHMSS 50 picture I received. Extra special to have that after returning from my bday trip to Piz Gloria this past March to ski and see the beauty that Switzerland has to offer. This was definitely a unique situation so please do not let my experience deter anyone from reaching out to GL’s manager to get a special item.

    Best,

    I purchased an autograph back on Nov. 15. It was supposed to be posted out this past Monday. I didn't receive a confirmation yet so I just sent Anders and email asking for an update. Hoping he just forgot to email me and it's well on its way. -{
