That's a lovely wrist pic. JTM

Our local AD currently has one in its window pride of place with the Milanese strap. Would have loved to go in and have good old look and feel of it but as I have no intention of buying at that price, I didn't want to waste their time. Agree with all that has been said about the watch, and the crazy price..

My AD just confirmed an about 6.6% price rise in UK on 1st Sept. I think that would add about £500 to this watch.
    Yes. Considerably!

I wonder, is Omega's profit margin so low that they have to increase the rrp by £500 8-) The watch, as lovely as it is, is already overpriced. Part of me really hopes this watch struggles to sell and they're forced to drop the price but if they do I'll feel very sorry for those that have already purchased at full whack.

There's not a lot about the way Omega has rolled out this watch that impresses me. Granted, the NTTD filming delays and premiere dates were out of their hands. But both the pricing and the campaign of artificial scarcity strike me as blockheaded. The watch itself comes with enough questionable calls to begin with (e.g. faux patina, aluminum bezel) as to make a lot of buyers hesitant. The exorbitant bracelet pricing, after making more NATO versions available for early buyers, only adds to my confusion and frustration. The suits at the Swatch Group clearly put a lot of thought and planning into what they were going to do here, and I would love to know their justifications and rationalizations. I can't help but think it's part and parcel of Omega's attempt to move farther upmarket. They seem to want to go toe to toe with Rolex while having a production model — let's make 50 versions of the new AT! — at odds with some of the practices that got Rolex where it is as one of the best known brands in the world.

    New addition to the collection!

Bought this today at an Omega Boutique and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. I also got a pen, the Bollinger and a free future service on the watch.

As mentioned above the price in the UK is going up on September 1st.

It is truly a lovely watch...

I expect folks would hate it, but if Aston can have a bit of fun and put a representation of a gadget control panel in their Living Daylights edition Vantage, I do sort of wonder if these special 007 watches couldn't do something a bit gadgety for all the extra money! A hidden light like the TWINE watch, a countdown feature like the Spectre one. Just for a laugh.

I suspect such a feature would take up most of the Swiss-made movement that contributes to making the watch the luxury item it is...

If Omega charged these prices for a Quartz/toy version people would really lose their minds. :))

Yep, have you seen the screen used watch props that light up? Most are definitely not designed to actually be worn—the back of most of them are quite thick to hold the light’s power supplies. There are some that are meant to be worn but I believe their movements wereremoved to hold the stuff for the lights.

I remember seeing some pics of Brosnan era screen used gadget watches but can’t seem to find them.

Some folks on this board own some of the Brosnan prop Omegas, I think.

Well the Goldeneye one was a quartz! Although not at these prices of course :D
I think if they’re such watchmaking geniuses they should be able to manage it :) The Spectre feature shouldn’t have been impossible, surely?

RRP. It was an Omega store not an AD so they didn’t discount.

I think he paid a lot more than that...he got the watch, not just the bracelet!

I paid RRP for mine - but they did order the Omega tool at their expense for me. To be fair, I didn’t really push them. There appear to be so few places in the UK that have the bracelet version ‘in stock’ - and I really didn’t want to wait ‘6-8 weeks’ for delivery.

Love mine. Had it a couple of weeks now and worn it every day. Can’t believe how light it is compared to my Brosnan.
    Yes. Considerably.

UK is £7390 RRP for the bracelet version.

£6520 for the NATO strap - though this appears to be more readily available, so you may be able to get a discount.
    Yes. Considerably.
  • kaddkadd Posts: 917MI6 Agent
The London boutique I bought mine only had one mesh version (which I purchased) and two on NATO.
  • Hart008Hart008 Posts: 711MI6 Agent
Thanks so much for the info - so i have a benchmark price, dont know why but it was hard to know the rrp. Tried to ask few people but for certain reasons they refused to let me know the amount. Now i know its UK is £7390 RRP for the mesh

    Cheers

Lovely experience as usual at my local Omega boutique. We were hanging around after the transaction catching up, when another of their regulars came in excited to see the watch. Their only copy was on my wrist! I put myself in his shoes, took it off and let him try it on for size. It's nice to be nice!

I really love how the colour of it changes so much between daylight and artificial light. It’s a real beauty! Very kind of you to allow the other bloke to try on—I’m sure he really appreciated it {[]
