It is sort of bizarre they hardly mention it at all. Even in their watch directory photoshoot it's the Skyfall AT. The only place the Spectre/ NTTD edition is mentioned is in the brief rundown on P1:23 in Lifetime.
Odd because it's gorgeous AND relevant.
Hence why it's being labelled as the unsung hero of the Bond watches. Check out this video here by The Bond Experience of the beautiful blue Aqua Terra..

yes, enjoyed this video, and it more than lives up to the praise. I picked one up in July, which Omega told me was the last one in London...which I dismiss as sales nonsense.
Yep I’ve seen that page—I just want to see what the magazine has to say about it. It’s the only part of that outfit I don’t have...been hunting for the correct one for a while.

Incidentally it's a good time to try on or buy watches at Omega boutiques as Covid measures mean they give you any pairs of the gloves you wear. Small bonuses...
i think its cause they want the Skyfall Aqua Terra to become the BOND Aqua Terra, it was personally chosen by DC , the new AT is also cool, but dont know why they dont want to mention it as much as the others

Ah damn, was hoping for a little more info. Thanks for posting that page anyway Royale -{

It just seems like Omega don’t care too much about Bond ATs. They barely mentioned it during the SF era, even though it was worn for a lot of the movie—their promotion focused mostly on the PO, even though that one was only worn in the PTS.

I'm not sure why that would be the case since Omega no longer makes either version. They don't benefit one way or another from second-hand sales.

That other No Time To Die watch that Bond is in fact wearing while driving the DB5 in Matera. Naturally Omega doesn't mention it
Interesting how the photo below Omega uses of Craig in the car in Italy and wearing the SMP while in fact in the movie, he wears the Aqua Terra while in Italy with that Massimo Alba suit. Talk about a misdirection
The same happened with the SPECTRE teaser poster, showing Craig in the grey turtleneck jumper. He's wearing the limited edition Seamaster 300. In the film, he wears the Aqua Terra with that outfit as the Seamaster 300 has blown up by that point. Again, the Aqua Terra misses out on the glory!

I wonder if the marketing people at Omega think that the best strategy is to push one watch per movie, even if Bond wears more than one. I mean, I'm sure they're thrilled if Bond fans buy both but for the general public, concentrating on a specific model as the SP watch or the NTTD watch is probably more effective.

My guess is they don’t want to take away from the piece they are marketing as the “bond watch” which coincidentally is a high price point. However I agree that both watches should be marketed. How often has omega done anything that makes sense though? 8-)

My guess is that the Omega marketing department are idiots. It’s a mess. They could capitalise on pushing both models, yet they ignore one. They could also capitalise on Bond wearing vintage Omega, yet they don’t. Yet still all of these watches are in the film and worn more than the watch they push (SKYFALL), or equally as much (SPECTRE). And those watches aren’t limited or sell out within weeks and are in the catalogue for years, and they ignore mentioning them as Bond watches. And the watches Bond wears sell insane amounts, and indeed put Omega back on the map 25 years ago. Insanity. Utter incompetence.
Is it possible that the agreement with Eon only allows them to promote one Bond watch in ads and marketing materials as "James Bond's Choice," but they nevertheless jump at the chance of placing multiple watches in a given film, as that still garners sales? No shortage of folks in here with an AT on their wrists due to SF and Spectre. Sometimes the placement IS the marketing.
If that's the case - that there can only be one watch promoted as THE Bond watch in a film - there's no dilemma - of course you market the 300 in Spectre, and of course you market the "new" watch in NTTD instead of "the one that was also in Spectre." You could argue they made the wrong choice in Skyfall, but I think there it's down to the pricier watch?
Is it also maybe down to the movie only being able to have one watch with “hero” shots? As having two watches feature prominently in the movie would be too much overt branding?
When I think back through Craig’s movies, I can remember the prime watch having a close-up.
QoS - as he’s opening the door of the Haiti hotel room
Skyfall - when he’s operating the digger on the train
Spectre - receiving the watch and then later when tortured
Maybe this is why Omega only market the one watch?....just a thought
Ironically, Omega mentions that Lashana Lynch wears the current horizontal teak black Aqua Terra on the black nato in the movie but fail to mention the titanium NTTD watch that she wears on the nato. ?:)
yep, its not that they fail to mention, its actually that they succeed in deifining that certain model for that certain character ) they basically want the Titanium to be identic to Bond, basically Omega decide which product they provide wanted as the IT watch during each Film.
I suppose they could also actually get into spoiler territory.
It's not an uninteresting experience buying in an Omega boutique as a Bond fan. They seem strangely reticent about Bond. Has happened with enough staff now where I think it's a thing not a personal anomaly.

Yes I guess they never mentioned that Trevelyan wears a Seamaster in GoldenEye too!
I always meant to ask: is it an older model he wears, as he says? It looks identical to me. I thought there wasn't an older model of that particular style otherwise you get the Pre-Bond.

I think he means newer ‘Q’ Model. He asks how ‘old Q’ is just before checking the watch.

I have one of the pre-Bond Seamaster from 9 years before Goldeneye (when Trevelyan would have had one) and it's very different to the current incarnation. It's just a throwaway line though - we 're not meant to look behind the curtain...
I was really excited to get the call from my local boutique last week, informing me that my NTTD watch had arrived. I ordered it a while after it was announced and they had agreed to honour the original price prior to the UK rise so I rushed down on Saturday to pick it up.
I think the watch looks miles better in the flesh than it does in pics, its light and the metal strap is really comfortable but despite exceeding my expectations, it just didn't speak to me enough for me to be able to buy it. I didn't get that thing when you look down at your wrist and can't help but keep looking, it just left me a bit... Meh.
I think maybe its because I already own a PO, SM 300 and SMP 300 and it really isn't that different. I thought about just getting it and hoping it grew on me but at the price I just couldn't not justify doing it. I have always liked and planned to get a Speed Master and they offered to do this for me for pre price hike money to. Tried it on, loved it, bought it and am pleased with the decision I made.
We had to stop off at another jewellers so my wife could pick up a ring and I got speaking to the guy in there about the Tudor Black Bay 58, another want for my collection. He mentioned that he had one in stock on the nato strap I could have and he could do me a discount on a separate stainless strap. Am just waiting for him to get back to me with the final price and I may get that too. Crazy how you can get a Speed Master and a BB58 for less that a NTTD!
I guess on the plus side for those that want one, there will be one going back into UK rotation now!
I know what you mean, I really like the NTTD Seamaster, but it's out of my price range and I'm not sure I love it enough even if I had the money.
Well done on finding a BB58! Those things are rare now! You're right, a BB58 and a Speedmaster for the price of one NTTD Seamaster.. It's a no brainer really.

Thank you for your report. I look forward to seeing the watch in the metal, too. I wonder if it would change my mind about it.
If the NTTD watch were $6,000 I would already own one. But the price is so exorbitant, as demonstrated by what you were able to buy for the same amount, that I feel mildly insulted by Omega. The only explanation for what they're doing is that they believe we Bond fans will pay anything for a piece of the franchise. It also represents an inexplicable departure from their past pricing for Bond movie watches.
People should obviously buy what they want to buy. No judgments here from me. You never want to think too hard about watch prices anyway.
This watch just...bums me out. It's like Rolex's waitlists in that regard. It turns an interest that should be fun and exciting into a source of disappointment and frustration.
The NTTD watch isn't limited. After the movie or when the next Bond movie is announced with the new actor. I expect the NTTD watch will be cheaper or on discount at some retailers.

The Skyfall isn't available from them anymore, but the Spectre AT is still being sold by them. It hasn't been discontinued....yet >>> https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-aqua-terra-150m-omega-master-co-axial-41-5-mm-23110422103003
That link says Watch No Longer Available. I think it was discontinued when they brought in the new model with the horizontal decking on the face.
I think it depends on the region. Still available here in Singapore....

***Vegas Bond is now OMEGA BOND WATCHES***
That’s a great point—they’ve missed on on years of Bond related interest by not pushing them. It just doesn’t make sense
