Finally get a look at the presentation of the watch.
So confusing how they explicitly say there's no box but then present it that way at the end.

Got to be honest I love that and looking forward to receiving it. :007)
I wondered if theres was going to be a box rather than just that canvas holder but now I'm chuffed.
Then I am a marketers dream, some people will think thats tacky but I'm happy

Do we know if the watch in the movie is being passed off as a vintage piece or as what it actually is, a modern watch meant to look aged?
I have heard the mention that it is suppose to be vintage inspired. Attempting to give it the appearance of vintage but not calling it vintage. Apparently after a few years no two will look similar... so take that how you want.

Oh sorry probably my poor phrasing. I mean in the actual movie universe itself, is Bond meant to be wearing a vintage watch or is it like it is in the real world, a watch that is “vintage inspired”?
Did i mention on this thread that this watch is on show in Zurich airport along with lots of other screen-used Bond Omegas? Some with their gadgets showing

Nothing about that is confirmed but here are my two cents...
Every Omega worn by Craig and Brosnan are modern pieces with the exception of the 321 Chronograph (actual vintage) and the Seamaster 300 (vintage inspired) used in Spectre. The NTTD Seamaster takes the idea of the Spectre Seamaster further. Instead of, ceramic they use aluminium etc. So the watch is vintage inspired for consumers. For Bond, you could say this is a vintage piece as the inscription signifies a 1962 issue date from the MoD. We know that’s just a reference for consumers but in the Bond universe that wouldn’t be the case. It would be a watch from 1962. On the other hand, it looks to be in perfect condition in the film so unless Bond kept it in a safe for 50+ years, it’s not realistic. Also Craig’s age doesn’t add up. I’d say it’s very much like the recent films, modern but vintage inspired!

Very cool! Anyone willing to by a ticket just so we can get some pics )

This makes sense to me.
What I wonder is if the watch is going to be a "wedding" gift from Madeleine. That would give it a really prominent role in the film — as a sign of Bond's conflicted emotions over the course of time — based on what we know of the plot so far.

That makes and interesting scenario! Omega seem to think the watch has the role of a gadget in this movie so I’d say it’s more likely to come from Q. We didn’t see him wearing it in Matera but he was wearing it in Jamaica. Maybe Felix comes baring gifts...

The watch is Government issued. Nomi wears one too, hence the broad arrow.

There's been a few pics lately of Craig wearing the NTTD Seamaster "off duty". For example...
I'm wondering if this is by choice, he did have a hand in designing it after all, or if he's required to?
It was already said at the beginning of the week that he assisted during the design process
Actually I believe it was mentioned at the watch's announcement event a few months ago that Craig was involved in the design process.
My question though was whether or not he's been wearing the watch casually because he "has to" or because he wants to. I'd like to think that he's wearing it by choice because he's proud of what he's had a hand in designing, not because he's contractually obliged to.
Just a random thought- does anyone think (or indeed hope) that the watch will contain a gadget of any sort, or have we "done" the gadget watch in the DC era?

Well, in the video link I posted above the Omega VP says it has an action role in the film, so maybe not just worn like the Aqua Terra...
I like this watch and know it’s titanium and not limited edition but £1K more than THE Submariner doesn’t square the circle for me.
Totally agree - very little interest in this watch at this price.
However...I might change my mind if, indeed, it comes complete with ‘the gadget’ - whatever that may be! I’m hoping for an app that shows where to get the best Vesper martini wherever you are. ) )
