I have mine on order with my dealer with a 30% discount.
Expected end of March.
At a 30% discount I’d be tempted. Price is bananas otherwise.
Each to their own but there a lot of very nice watches in that range.

30% has to be staff discount. So you are lucky. An AD has about a 35% markup on Omega watches, so they won’t be making hardly any profit from that sale. If any.
Popped into the Omega boutique near Oxford Circus in London and they have the new Bond watch in stock. But not on display.
The watch is lovely in person and very light. Got a chance to put it on and the strap is very comfortable. Took a lot of resistance not to buy it on the spot.
Have a trip later this year so will think about duty free and at least not paying RRP.
Boutique sent me some photos to see if I wanted to get on the list. They're not having it out for display as they have too much demand to keep one sitting out. They don't seem to think the Milanese strap will be available on its own since it won't match the look of the other watches. Plus, given the price difference I probably don't want to pay that much for it.
It's a beautiful watch. It'll sit nicely amongst my collection.
Did they happen to say when it will be released? I was told Feb but that's looking increasingly unlikely.
It’s released, they just don’t have any to put on display as they’re too busy filling all the pre-orders still, hence him sending me photos as there aren’t any to look at, at least in my neck of the world.
I know people are disappointed by this watch not coming in a humongous wooden box with screwdrivers and loupes etc, but personally Ive found the size of the recent boxes simply unnecessary, I've always kept my watches in a 12 watch display case in my wardrobe and the boxes and loupes and in most cases the extra straps have been stored in a big box in my attic.
I agree, these wooden boxes in their increasing sizes have become ridiculous and represent no real value - they take up a significant part of space.
On the other hand, Omega is saving obviously money by replacing them with the cheaper watch roll, they could have at least added a springbar tool and a loupe like they did previously.

What frustrates me is that there’s clearly a pouch next to the watch that’s designed for a spring bar tool. It’s probably something that you could push to get free with the purchase but shouldn’t have to!
For that price I'd expect both straps and a springbar tool, most certainly. Actually I'd want straps that have those little nifty springbar catches you can work with your thumbnail.
As a long time Omega watch fan and supporter, there has been a change in the way they do business, (at least locally) No one knows what's going on and all they do is sell, sell sell, ask for deposits, and try to create a sense of urgency (by lying)
I'm through for the time being with the local Omega Boutique and hoping my AD comes through soon with the new watch.

I’ve been speaking in depth today with an old colleague who is more than in the know. Seems what we surmised about them controling supply is correct. Distribution and delivery of these watches is going to be very sparse. It’s a joke considering demand for the SP 300 was greater due to the Limited status. Yet they had all 5007 completed and ready for purchase a month before the film release.
In short, what Omega want to achieve is a waiting list for this watch and give themselves some of the intrigue and frenzy Rolex have created with their tool watches. But it’s a false and forced scenario as they can easily fill demand for these. So on top of the stupid inflated price, you are going to get a stupid inflated wait too.
This was originally going to be a limited release at the same RRP, but with a proper box and extras. “The biggest and baddest limited Bond yet”, was how it was described to me. The decision to make it non limited was a decision made quite late in the day it seems.
Everybody and his dog knows that this is not a LE. The extreme Hype will die down 4-8 weeks after the movie has hit the cinemas.
To create a sustainable hype, you need a larger demand than supply and the willingness of the people to wait for x weeks and pay full retail.
That may happen with a true LE like the recent Speedmaster 321, I have doubts that this will be the case for a new and pretty overpriced non-LE - and from Omega.
Daytona, BLRO (I refuse to call it a Pepsi!) Sub and the Speedmaster have decade old cultstatus so the hype is somehow justified.
To create artificially something like this with a new watch just because it can be seen in a Bond movie, I have strong doubts will work!

Say you wait and demand isn’t what Omega expects. Is this watch worth the $7,360 USD if you can find an AD who will give you 20% off? Would Brosnan’s
Automatic Seamaster achieved the status it has today if Omega had tried this then? Would fans still have taken the plunge? I got my SMP at the end of 2017 from an AD for well less than half of what this model retails at. Granted, it’s not titanium, but the ceramic parts seem very durable.

It’s a sad fact that Omega doesn’t command the respect it should against Rolex. But that was more true 45 years ago. Since then they’ve forged and innovated (with Mr Daniels help) to a point where they should stand shoulder to shoulder with Rolex. Sadly that isn’t the case. Whilst Rolex has remained true to their ethos of robust luxury at no compromise and without looking back, Omega have gone, not quite the opposite route, but a good 70 degrees of separation.
Omega have looked back far too much. Far too many limited editions, far too many re-editions, far too many re-re-editions. It’s become mundane, predictable and flooded the market with limited editions, that lets face it, aren’t that limited. Omegas five year plan in 2005 was to be standing head and shoulders up there in the mid tier luxury watch range with Rolex. But that never happened. And since then, once again, they’ve lost their way. Over charging for old rehashes of old movements long since reached their expiry date, placed in rehashes of old models, long since passed their expiry date. Making limited editions of watches with a name attached to them that rarely has any connotation with the actual watched released. And topping even that, placing a RRP on those watches that is at least 40% above what that watch is worth compared to other models in the range that are the same without the minuscule adjustment, better technical innovation and more.
And if that’s not annoying. Well, now they still want to compete with Rolex, not by offering a comparable or superior product at a slightly lower or similar RRP, no. They are now manufacturing a waiting list for products that isn’t real or in essence, comparable. They’re not using their heritage, technical innovation or movement complication, but a fictional character brand name that is bound to sell, be it vile design or inferior product. Which in fact, this watch, apart from the lower grade Ti, isn’t.
People want to buy a Submariner. Fact. Rolex don’t want or need to make more of them as other models sell just as well. They don’t sell because Bond wore one, Steve McQueen wore one or that they have superior quality. No, people buy them because they have proven themselves over 60 years and they’ve remained pretty much unchanged. Sure there have been a few updates, loved and hated, but Rolex don’t look back. They go forward. Omega have released so many Seamasters, even in the last 10 years that I can’t keep up. And how many Bond watches have they released? Twice as much than Rolex have released models of Submariner in the last 100 years. that diminishes a product and brand, it cheapens it and reduces future and past models desirability.. Omega is a kite dancing in the wind. And I find that very very sad, as I like the brand history, and want to like the brand. But they are fighting me on this. And they are losing.
Again what Asp said, they've lost me as customer at the moment even after a 25 year relationship with the brand, like Asp I love the heritage but I hate the direction they are currently heading in, I actually do like the new smp but I won't be buying, I'm sure one day one will come my way at a more realistic price and I may buy it, but for now I'll stick with the Omegas I have and continue my fascination with Panerai.

Picked it up today and got to say very happy, although some of you know the circumstances that I can't go into now its concluded.
Its really light weight which I like and the strap is gorgeous feeling.
More commando type watch and less 007 gimmicky.
Looks stunning on and fits perfectly with shirts and clothing.
Must agree the price is only thing that exploits it.

WOW 30% off is pretty crazy!

I put a lot of business his way, especially with Omega.
