You can special order these directly from Crockett and Jones but it ain't cheap!
You have this and can put some insoles eventually !!!
Good find!
I think DC's Molton are Vibram soles.....like mines ?:)
I think those ones on ebay were with a leather sole and the owner had them resoled with a kind of Vibram material.....
I've had these on my watch list for a long while debating about if I could make them fit lol.
And that's why I'm looking for used! I was hoping maybe someone from the last custom run batch of the rough out leather was not wearing their's and wanted to sell.
Mines are one size longer and I put an insole.....they fit excellently
Well I know for certain that DC's rough-out suede Molton's have Dainite soles and I just assumed that the brown and black suede ones have the same soles—but a definite answer would have to come from someone who knew a bit more about those boots of his or who was part of those related projects.
OK…..thanks Asp.
I have CJs with Dainite soles but honestly, I'm very fond of my Molton with Vibram soles, they are perfect
According to Info here the brown suede Molton’s he owns have a micro rubber sole.
Rightio so the black suede and brown rough-out have Dainite and the brown suede have the flat rubber.
Wish I was a member back when those two AJB Molton projects happened...£350 instead of the crazy special order price of £700 odd would have been fantastic for what you were getting! Wonder what required number of a C&J group order would be now? During those projects it jumped up from 6 to 12—could it still be doable? And on a similar note I wonder if the price per item would have gone up as well?
Per my discussion with Lauren last February I think that was the only price change but I wouldn't be surprised if they went up a little bit. Here is a screen shot of my email where she broke down the pricing based on a group or individual purchase.....
I wanted to do a run of the Molton boots but I decided against it because of some issues with the Rough cut version.......water under the bridge!
I haven't 8-)
Great info thanks
