Thoroughly enjoyed the whole day spent at Pinewood Studios to celebrate John Richardson's Making Movie Magic book launch.
Highlights of the day started with full length screening of Licence To Kill in The John Barry Theatre which was introduced by Anthony Waye - Film Producer.
If like me, you do like to watch right through to the end of any film to see the film credit names, it was wonderful see some of those named to be in the actual theatre, Director - John Glen, opening credits Optical Camera Man - Alan Church, whose work as part of Maurice Binder's team on the opening credit titles are still something to behold in this day and age of CGI.
We then moved onto Pinewood's Ballroom in Heatherden Hall where more guests were waiting to meet attendees, Rocky Taylor - Stunts, Jim Dowdall - Stunts, Caroline Bliss - Miss Moneypenny, Alan Tomkins - Draughtsman, which also included stalls some selling unique James Bond memorabilia.
The wet weather didn't dampen hearty soles who jumped at a chance to walk in the footsteps of 007 on a Pinewood Studio Garden Tour, which included walking over the ornamental bridge crossed by look alike 007, area where Red Grant was massaged and Spectre Island HQ in From Russia With Love. Also visited was the grotto from The World Is Not Enough, the closing scene area where James Bond and Pussy Galore parachute landed in Goldfinger.
Several guests were interviewed on stage including Chris Corbould, John Glen, Peter Diamond and whose honour the event was held John Richardson, it was interesting to listen to their trials and tribulations encountered while filming Bond.
