On the BBC News it mentions how Bond fans from the UK's top Bond websites (it says) are petitioning to delay the opening of the new film, due to the coronavirus.
Neither are AJB007. They are MI6 Confidential and the James Bond Dossier.
Pah! X-(
BTW move to another forum if necessary. No spoilers - that includes mentioning the name of the film and the actor playing James Bond.

I said no spoilers, Higgins! I don't want to know what you see in the trailer.

Is this you suggesting a movie night, Higgi baby?

) Don't worry about it, NP. I'm certainly not. The BBC lost its once glittering reputation for accuracy years ago.
I know about the MI6 forum, of course, but (not joking) I've never even looked at this Dossier mentioned above. If anyone would like to tell me more about it (PM if necessary) please do.

Call me biased as I occasionally contribute, but David Leigh has been running that site since 2002 and is also a contributor to MI6-HQ, often appearing on the James Bond & Friends podcast.

I must admit, I am not too surprised that MGM choose to move NTTD to the fall. Given the effect that Coronavirus is taking on the world at large, it is for the best. In the mean time, I will be defiantly be watching the pervious James Bond movies on DVD/ Blu Ray to keep me happy until November. Also I have the Dynamite comic book series to enjoy, their is a new story coming out in hardcover later in March and I just got the graphic novel adaptation of Live And Let Die to read.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Quite welcome!
No it wasn't. I was just trying to force my political views on people who aren't really interested )
We should start a petition to ensure they get to see the film in April - April 2021!

Next Bond film in 2026 ?
Unless they use the next 7 months to start preparing... No, that would be what Cubby would have done. Not MGW + BB.
They have all the time in the....
Exactly. Nothing stopping (you'd have thought) a Bond26 release in 2023. Will it happen? No chance Wouldn't be surprised if MGW&BB decide enough's enough and sell up in 2021.
MGW- Sorry, Cubby, but we're gonna have to delay the premiere.
Cubby- Shoot, that's a pain after all the trouble we've had with this one. Whaddya think, a couple of weeks?
BB- No, Dad, about 7 months.
Cubby- 7 months???? You have to be kidding me.
MGW- No, it's definitely 7 months.
Cubby- Right, tell ya what we're gonna do. Michael, ring up Purvis & Wade and tell them to get working on a new script. Barbara, start looking at locations, preferably ones we haven't been to before.
BB- But Dad-
Cubby- No "buts", we ain't gonna sit on our asses for 7 months. Oh, and see if we still have the phone number of that Aiden Turner fella.
MGW- Well, I'll try.
Cubby- You'll succeed- this is no time to try....
I've been reading the detailed and excellent Some Kind of Hero by Matthew Field and Ajay Chowdhury which I picked up for a fiver at a discount book store. It goes behind the scenes of the films like I've never read before.
You sense they have to keep on the right side of EON ie Barbs and Mickey but really, you do sometimes get the idea that in some ways the pair are rubbish producers. The number of times they hire a director who is wholly wrong for an action movie, or a writer who faffs about for an inordinate amount of time only for his draft to be ditched after airing a clearly inappropriate idea, and the film pushed back, or the director quits in the run-up, or doesn't really get on with the leading man, or there's a rushed release date so no time to finesse the final product in the editing studio... this happens on a great many of them: TND, DAD, QoS and now NTTD. Even films that do well, such as GE, CR and SF have a heck of a lot of last-minute rewrites so there are gaping plotholes to contend with.
Of course, you had Danny Boyle walking, so the film got put back, now it's been put back again. This film should have been out, what, at least five months ago? Think of the money they'd have made just before the virus took hold...

Apart from the hold over of Sony Pictures Bad Boys For Life (which was a January release), there were not any other major action movies for NTTD to contend with.
Know what? I think we should petition EON to show the film to a select few of us Bond fans - and next month!
Then they should take on board all the criticism we usually dish out to these films - and go ahead and redo it ready for the November release!
Let's be fair - usually there's some crap in every Bond movie that could easily be ironed out with a bit more time.
That even applied to the classic Goldfinger - according to Choudhury and Field's great new book on the series, Some Kind of Hero. It certainly applied to films like TND and QoS.
Put the film to the select critics - see what can be honed.
Then get Daniel 'Slit My Wrists' Craig back in for reshoots!
