But in Joshua‘s case when working with and for elderly people, a FFP2 or higher may be required. And those are harder to breathe.
Medical staff are wearing FFP2 and higher for longer periods during the day.
My hubby does driver training for the emergency services and he wears an N95 (same as a FFP2 I think). Not the most comfortable but the safest. Anyone working as a carer or care home environment should be wearing those.
With all this talk of masks I recommend you watch this ... It's very clever, especially if you appreciate a bit of Beauty and The Beast. 'Wear A Mask '
I post here because I think it is the most relevant discussion.
I wonder if anyone else has practical problems while wearing face masks? I find them very irritating and difficult to breath while wearing them. I wear them to comply with the laws.
I cannot understand the reason for people who wear them while driving alone in cars?
Well, in addition to my shades fogging up; none. But then again, I sometimes go jogging wearing a gas mask, just keep up to date in my long-gone-irrelevant training and past job description.
Wait!

I have taken note of the different masks and will investigate (I don't need a gas mask though!). The replies have been most informative.
With regard to 'fogging up' of spectacles, I am not sure if this trick will work, but we used to spit into the lenses of diving masks then rub it in to stop them from becoming misty. Perhaps a little bit of saliva rubbed into the inside of the lens might stop the problem? I'm not sure if it would affect vision though? It is fine under water but otherwise?
Trump now labels Dr. Fauci „being a disaster“ and „if I‘d listened to him, we‘d have now 500.000 deaths“
Well, Fauci was always the voice of being careful - in the ears of some overly cautious - so how could that claim have any substance?
For sure, Fauci‘s suggestions would have led to less fatalities, so it‘s just an idiotic claim - obvious, blatant and a lie!
Wouldn‘t it have been smarter saying „If I‘d listened to him, we‘d have 10 million more unemployed“ or „stock market would have lost 10% more“?
Why put such an obvious lie out and who‘s really believing this sh*t?

I don't "need" a gas mask either, but it's fun to stir up some "behind your back" conversations in the upper middle class neighborhood where I live currently. ) ) ) Although my wife says, that at my age it's no longer just childish, it's down right weird!
I don't think that spitting into my glasses, and rubbing the lenses, in the local grocery store while checking the price tags on produce is going to go down too well with my fellow shoppers.
There are all these anti fogging agents that one can buy, also shaving foam 1) spread on the lenses and 2) polished off, works quite well. I have used that in the past on spots of car windows and camera lenses, when I needed to prevent morning mist from blocking up the picture.

It was just an idea! I actually meant spitting on the lenses while outside (away from people) but now that you have pointed it out I can see that doing it in the supermarket might cause a issue! I did not think it through!

It was not until I came to England that I realised I had no need any more to improvise on many things to make every day life easier. But, if you want to explore the saliva thing and do not want to risk corona virus on other shoppers - just get a dog to lick your glasses before putting them on!
You can tie the dog outside the supermarket then just go out each time your glasses (or gasmask lenses!) steams up!
The dog of course, in between licking your glasses, may also lick other things that dogs like to lick, but this should help to fight the virus and help to make sure people keep two metres away from you!

Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
Pharmacy gigant Pfizer say they are in the last phase of the testing of their Covid-19 vaccine and they will be ready for approval in the US in the third week in November. Since Europe doesn't have an EUA – Emergency use authorization sysem like the US an approval in January is more likely here.
About half of the covid-19 infectedin Norway are born outside the country. Are there simular statistics in other countries?
1. Here in Germany part of the hygene concept is, that stores are controlling the number of customers in their location.
Many go cheap and force you to use a shopping cart and they have limited the amount of shopping carts along with their shop sizes.
Well that would be ok, when there would be a saniter so that I can clean the handles before I touch them.
The 1$ store in my neighborhood has someone who is sanitizing every cart before the next customer touches it.
But the big retail chains don't bother! You are forced to touch the filthy handles and if you don't take a cart, there is a bouncer, who reminds you "friendly" to use a cart.
2. "Contactless Payments"
So on checkout, many retail stores recommend "for the protection of us all" not to use cash but a card.
Ok, so I enter or swipe my card but then have to touch the filthy pen to sign what is written on the computer screen!
And I can't use my own pen because those touch screens require the filthy plastic pen!

"Andrew Cuomo killed 6700 elderly citizens because he forced them back into their nursing homes while they where infected"
I wish, that CNN would have asked him this 2 days ago when he was on their chanel.
I admire Cuomo's leadership during the first wave of the pandemic so, decided to go a bit deeper into the topic because I found it difficult to believe that this happened like I am hearing from Right Wing Channels on and on.
What is true is, that there have been 6700 people dying in nursing homes in NY during the first wave
And Cuomo ordered nursing homes to take back their people - even when they where still infected.
However:
- nursing homes could refuse by declaring that they are not having the capabilities taking care of infected elederlies (and this may have had financial consequences for those nursing homes)
But: If we all remember, NY's hospitals where overflown with patients at a time and to take care for emergency patients, decisions had to be made to send infected people home to make room for more urgent cases.
And the perception that those returning patients brought the virus back to those nursing facilities has been debunked, because the virus was spreading there already - it has been mostly brought in by staff.
I take this as another example that the reality if far more complex than a screaming headline in Social Media Channels and I can only encourage everybody to do a bit of a research before making judgement.

Sadly, it doesn't look like the band will be getting back together. Well, perhaps for a festival gig or the like.
