Diamonds are Forever Crematorium Urn Tribute to Andy House

Hello everyone,
With the sudden and unexpected passing of our good friend, Andy House,
I came up with a “Crazy” idea that I think would be an interesting tribute to him.
As I’m sure you all may know, Andy’s “Holy Grail” was the Crematorium Urn from “Diamonds Are Forever.”
You already may suspect where I’m going with this…
Using available screenshots from the film, I approached our own Minijeff, who has taken on the project to duplicate the crematory urn that held the diamonds as seen in the film.
The plan is to present the finished prop replica to Andy’s partner in hopes that his remains would be placed inside.
After the final design is deceided upon, we can look into having it fabricated.
Additionally, if more are fabricated, (as I’m sure others would also like to include this in their prop collection) we could then donate the profits (over the fabrication costs) to the RAF Benevolent Fund or The British Heart Foundation, on behalf of Andy, as these were the two associations he requested be given donations in lieu of flowers at his funeral.
I think Andy would get a “Kick” out of actually having his remains reside in the prop he sought after for so many years.
Minijeff wrote me:
Ed has kindly sent me some useful reference imagery to make a start on designing the urn. I so wish that Andy could be involved with this, I think he would have loved to see it.
I can imagine him saying something along the lines of “NOW you decide to make it?!”
Everyone’s input is useful, we can all play a part in this and I’d like no one to feel that they’re just along for the ride, if you want to get involved then you’re more than welcome.
Right now, Jeff is hoping to aquire a 4K screen capture of this particular frame from the film that shows the best profile of the urn.
Can anyone assist us with that. Please post it here.
Minijeff will keeo us updated on his progress.
Stay safe, my friends.
Ed

I’m afraid to say that after giving this some thought and finally listening to my niggling doubts in my mind, I have to say that I’m going to call time on this one and respectfully bow out.
I know some of you have put some time into this helping out, and quite a few supported the project, but there’s been something in the back of my mind for a while questioning whether this is such a good idea. A tribute project to Andy is certainly a good idea, I’m just not convinced that an urn, given the circumstances, is such a suitable prop to make. I can imagine Andy finding it funny, but his partner might not and the last thing I want to do is upset anyone, especially her. To think that I’d caused unnecessary grief or upset by doing this project would really effect me badly. I also don’t want any tribute project to Andy being misconstrued as me profiting from Andy’s death.
While work could in theory continue on the urn, to declare it as a tribute to Andy would, I feel be unsuitable.
A couple of months before he died, Andy visited me and we talked about the future and bounced a couple of ideas around. Funnily enough, the urn was something he brought up in conversation, but we spoke of other stuff too that could be more fitting for a tribute. I think as DAF was one of, if not his favourite bond film, Andy had an ongoing obsession with trying to source the urn. It’s origins remain a mystery as he never did find out where it came from.
Anyhow, the discovery of the urn’s origins remains to be discovered for another time and another project.
I’ll keep working on something to honour Andy’s memory by as I think it’s important to do something for him. I’ll keep you posted. For the time being my efforts have been requested elsewhere during the global pandemic, but I’ll keep chipping away at Andy’s tribute as a welcome distraction.
Please guys, stay safe, stay home whenever you can and be careful.
