TF Spectre Polo Alternative Tagliatore advice please

Hi has anyone purchased the Tom Ford Spectre Polo alternative identified on the Iconic Alternatives website Tagliatore Polo? I am considering it but in some pictures it looks great and in one website picture the fit did not look very sleek so I wondered if anyone on this forum has one and what do they think of it? It’s not cheap and I want to get some insight before I decide to buy one.

Looking at both of these it’s very difficult to tell any difference! Would you say the Smedley Noah is slim fit?

It's a slim fit but in my opinion flattering without being constricting. And the sea island cotton makes it one of (well, two of - I bought it in black as well) the most comfortable shirts I own.

Thanks, yes this was my preferred option but WOW its expensive....looked really good on Cary Fukunaga. Not see anywhere with a reduction and even then its still going to be around £200, which is double the Tagliatore or John Smedley versions, although admittedly the material is 50% silk.

It's a slim fit but in my opinion flattering without being constricting. And the sea island cotton makes it one of (well, two of - I bought it in black as well) the most comfortable shirts I own.

I have the indigo and it's a good match as I think the navy is just a touch too dark.

I have the tf and the ob and they are extremely similar. I would say the ob is slightly more elasticated on the waistband

OB just announced today yet another decent alternative.. This new one (called the "Lincoln") is more affordable @$225 USD compared to their "Mallory" polo which is a good $100 USD more depending on version.... however.. the Lincoln has a chest pocket.. but the neck line is more close in appearance to the TF than the JS polos. The neckline on the TF - to me - is what makes it a unique piece..

A hybrid of the Spectre and CR/QoS polos. Not sure if I like it.

The neckline is what I hate about the TF polo (along with the price). Too plunging for me.

I have the Magnoli.. the neckline wasn't bad.. I could reasonably pull it off, but unfortunately the construction of his were seriously flawed and the neckline hem, if you will, would turn inside out / flip over constantly.. so wearing his was really annoying.. I'd like to grab the OB Mallory - but even that one is just too much for me to spend on just a polo. I have a good bit of OB pieces in my closet but picked up almost every one off of Poshmark etc..

My John Smedley Noah arrived and it’s awesome much nicer than I expected to the extent I may get the indigo version as well. Definitely recommend it.

This is again where I think the JS Noah excels. It's suggestive of that TF design but a little more modest.

Cool thanks for the heads up. Think I have pretty much exhausted my wallet on versions of this now! I bought the OB Mallory and 2 sizes of this one which is amazing and highly recommended if you can find one that gets returned in the Mr Porter sale

If you can find one on the secondary market - Club Monaco did a merino wool johnny collar polo in navy that even has similar stick pattern at the shoulders. I picked one up recently and just need to snap some good pics of it to post. Fantastic alternative.
