I've got to admit that for me personally the whole Scotland section of the film doesn't feel sufficiently Bondian to me. It's brilliantly directed, shot and played... but it's more 'High Noon' than James Bond.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
The real lodge once owned by Fleming's family looks nothing like Skyfall in the film. It's very well protected. And a little further up the road from where I was photographed.
Amazing how much unnoticeable CGI went into the Scotland scenes—background mountains, lake in the background, low clouds; didn’t know until watching BTS that they weren’t there in reality.
If that had been Sean Connery, the entire audience would have started yelling "It's Sean Connery!" and the film would have died.
But maybe, after that moment, Craig and Dame Judi could have brought Kincade with them back into the rest of the movie... through their sheer acting chops. It's a moot point, anyway.

Nah, wouldn't have happened. He's a force of nature.

Having been there, I can tell you that the film has the roads the wrong way round.
Yeah, it does
But being out in the country and low-tech is sort of un-Bondlike.
It was always utter crap. This film merely proves that.

AgustaWestland AW101. The NH90/MRH-90 does look pretty similar though—fun to fly in as well; we have them over here in Oz.
Indeed!
Maybe Spectre was trying to one-up this )
