I will be there. John Barry's first Bond score, how could I not?

Me too. Yay - gipsy girlfight! :D

While we're eagerly awaiting tomorrow, this might be a good time filler. It's not mine, this comes from erstwhile member The Cat.

FRWL marks the first time an actor/actress from an earlier Bond film (DN, obviously) returns playing a different part. Who is it?

That would be Anthony Dawson as Dent (DN) and the faceless Blofeld (FRWL).

While that's true, it's not the correct answer. :)

Oh of course, it’s Bob someone—Bond in the two gun barrels! The very first actor to play Bond in the series :))

Bob Simmons—had to look up his last name.
  • JTMJTM Posts: 3,027MI6 Agent
...oh wait you said different parts in the two movies. Hmm no idea then?? I think there was a few uncredited extras that appear in both, but apart from those ones and Dawson ?:)
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 37,854Chief of Staff
    Not an extra, not.a stuntman.

Wasn‘t one of the gypsie girls seen in Dr. No as well?

Indeed, but it isn't Martine Beswick.
  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,619MI6 Agent
    I haven‘t mentioned Beswick for a reason.

The term gipsy girl was not exclusively to the girls in the catfight

It’s Peter Evans. He was in the casino scene in Dr. No and a man buying fruit in FRWL. I had to look it up, I didn’t know it before.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 37,854Chief of Staff
Sorry, guys, it's not a gypsy girl and neither is it Peter Evans.

I assume you don’t mean Nikki Van der Zyl either?

  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 37,854Chief of Staff
It's not the talented Ms Nikki either.
  • JTMJTM Posts: 3,027MI6 Agent
Wow then, I am completely flummoxed. Not Dawson, Van der Zyl or an one of the obvious uncredited background extras—we’re running out of possibilities! This returning actor is actually a human right? We’re not talking about some random parrot in the background??
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 37,854Chief of Staff
    :)) Yes, a human.
  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,619MI6 Agent
Can it be Connery‘s toupee in a significantly higher - errr- coverage :D

No toupe on Sir Sean in DN.
  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,619MI6 Agent
Seriously, I am pretty sure that the return is happening in the gipsy camp.

Was it Terence Young? I know he doubled for Pedro Armendariz in some of the scenes in the gypsy camp when he was unwell, I don’t remember him in DN but it is possible that he was in it as well.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 37,854Chief of Staff
    No, it isn't Mr Young.

Ah, the gypsy camp- scene of my favourite joke in that episode of Shakespeare's Sir James (Kerim takes him to meet some camp gypsies :)) ). But not the scene we're looking for here.

Well, Juba Kennerley played both a patron at Le Cercle in DN and a chess tournament spectator in FRWL... but who's to say that this isn't the same character jet-setting between London and Venice, and he's an extra so wouldn't qualify anyway...

Anita Ekberg auditioned unsuccessfully for the part of Honey Rider. So in one sense she got to play that part - for the audition. Her image appears in the movie poster for 'Call Me Bwana' (an Eon production), which is cheekily featured in FRWL... it's Ekberg's mouth through which Krilencu appears. (Ekberg replaces Marilyn Monroe, whose movie 'Niagara' Fleming referenced for the poster in the corresponding sequence in the novel, 'From Russia With Love'). So there's a connection there; but because Ekberg only auditioned for DN and isn't actually in it, I guess this isn't the right answer either!

I've just made an online order for 'Call Me Bwana', as I've never seen it, and it was made by a number of the Eon Bond team of the time: it's apparently Eon's only non-Bond film to be produced by both Broccoli and Saltzman.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

It's neither Mr Kennerley or the ample Mis Ekberg, Shady. I haven't seen "Call Me Bwana" in years, hope you enjoy.

(A story from my childhood, while watching a movie with my family-
Me- Which one's Anita Ekberg, Dad?
My Dad- She's the one with the biggest boobs.
Me- How do you know that, Dad?
My Dad- Anita Ekberg is always the one with the biggest boobs.)

I was thinking one emoji for each boob :-)

(A third would would put her in Scaramanga territory!)

Of course, my mistake. I was thinking about Total Recall.
