    Hello attache!

Llewelyn was wearing around the prop for years!
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

Still no toupe here, btw, but plenty of hair thickener, scalp paint etc

The only Q scene that Desmond Llewelyn played completely straight... and he does it brilliantly. Apparently he was paid £30 for this, wasn't invited to the premiere, and saw the film in his local cinema in Hastings!
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Music- “James Bond With Bongos” Barry recorded this version specifically for the film

you absolutely anticipated my next post! So, it's GF where he starts with the rug?

Yes, and it's much better there than his subsequent ones.

Why is he flying PanAm from London to Istanbul?

Love the shots of Istanbul. This is all very Flemingesque.

Back in 63, the very act of air travel, passing through an airport and getting a car for hotel check-in... was an exciting enough fantasy for most folk in the audience, to warrant Bond theme scoring in the film!

For some reason the KGB often used Bulgarians for assassination missions. I don't know why.

The lovely lady leaving Kerim's room will reappear in GF- more significantly (not to say shockingly)!

Music- The “James Bond Theme”, the original version. A Peter Hunt decision, not a John Barry choice

The great Pedro Armendariz... a brilliant and courageous performance

I actually remember the Jamaika arrival scene from Dr. No everytime that I am leaving an airport after having arrived

Connery is much better than Lazenby at searching for bugs. Lazenby looked behind pillows in the sofa!

I never find the bug-search scenes dull.
    Very Fleming imo

If they think THAT'S something, wait until Connery checks his room for bugs with the theme score blaring at a volume level of 11.

Yeah, it doesn't feel germane. But it certainly glorifies the whole foreign travel fantasy of every travelling salesman of the day.

SPECTRE is everywhere (as Mr White might have said in 'SPECTRE')... even in the hotel reception! And Nikki van der Zyl is everywhere too!

What I love about this movie: everyone is competent at their jobs. Connery doesn't 'win' by the enemy acting stupidly, he 'wins' because he happens to make the best decisions at any given time.

    100% agree

Instead we are always seeing Bond being confronted with his inner conflicts :s

The underground scene. Taken almost verbatim from Fleming- one reason why I love this film!

I had trhe oportunity to visit the reservoars once, but I chose another place to visit. I think it was have been the harem. This was before I really became a Bond fan.
