    Shaw captures Fleming's "Nash" perfectly.

Had Grant turned out to have been the genuine Nash, Bond would have accepted that Nash's escape route was only for one - and that Tania needed to be left behind. Even if he hadn't liked it.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

    Bond and Grant pre-fight

Bond guesses too early that SPECTRE's behind it all? He extrapolates the whole villainous scheme simply from Grant's line "SMERSH?"

Love how Grant removes Bond's cigarette case. This would be significant to those (like me) who'd read the book first.

Robert Shaw is note-perfect as Grant

Love the indigo night sky back projection through the train window behind Bond.

Grant's weakness... his interest in the money that Bond baits him with... the gold sovereigns. (Kronsteen is right, later on
The fault was a weakness in Klebb's choice of personnel; not in his own planning)

Barry wrote music for this scene, but it wisely wasn't used.

The most brutal fight in the franchise... still.

Stunt doubles apparently used for only one shot during the whole Bond/Grant fight

Does it exist anywhere? In a way, the fight is all the more effective without music... just the crunching sound effects.

Yes, it's on the OST "Death Of Grant" (but see what I wrote on p2 of this thread)

The overpowered SPECTRE truck driver... is he the same guy who flanked Walter Gotell when Klebb made her initial inspection on SPECTRE island, looking over Grant?

The pre-fight dialog between Grant and Bond is superb. Perfectly blocked and acted.

I have to disagree on this.
Imo it‘s worse than I remember and not really convincing.

Bond „breaking down“ is a bit cartoonish and why is Grant telling all this.
Just shoot the bastid and get done
