Music- “If He Finds It, Kill Him” Martin told how Hamilton instructed him on how he wanted this music to match the action, and he succeeded

The card trick - I like it when Bond is a bastard.

Dalton would have never done that!

You must be joking! It's much more in DaltonBond's charecter than MooreBond.

No, I think Dalton would have won her over with his watery eyed sincerity. :))
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

It certainly is necessary, Gymkata. Though with that hair bunched up into a column, she looks like some sort of Star Wars alien babe.

@Barbel: did you ever see SWASHBUCKLER with Robert Shaw and James Earl Jones? Not a great movie (although I have a lot of affection for it, warts and all) but Holder has a fun role in it.

No, but it sounds good. Did you ever see the video for Elton John's "Passengers"? Holder is there as Baron Samedi.

You said it Barbel, the only Bond baddie who gave me knightmares for several years.
In voice work, he often did softly sounded characters - The narrator of Tim Burton’s Charlie & The Choc Factory.
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

I like motor vehicle chases in this era of Guy Hamilton Bond films... screeching tyres, fun skidding and smashing metal bodywork.

The head guy here is called Adam.

In Moore's LALD diary, he makes it clear that Solitaire is only faking the attack on Bond to allow him to escape.

I'll check out that video, thanks!

Lower your expectations on SWASHBUCKLER. Robert Shaw is fantastic in it and there are some great moments to be had, but overall the inept direction keeps it all from gelling. Also, Peter Boyle is pretty terrible as the bad guy. If you're in a forgiving mood and want to enjoy Shaw and James Earl Jones having an absolute blast, give it a go.

Will do. Those are some of my favourite actors

Adam is an underrated henchman, I think. Second fiddle to Tee Hee, Baron Samedi and maybe even Whisper, but he plays his scenes well. He's like a blaxploitation film character played straight.

The car vs plane is a poor action scene. In fact the first half of LALD is light on standout action.

Mrs Bell's "Holy Sh..." line was muted on original release

Another great Guy Hamilton/Tom Mankiewicz wittily realised action sequence... Mrs Bell and the crashing cars... in the same fun spirit as the car chase in Vegas in DAF

It's terrible. The only reason why the scene 'happens' is because everyone's an idiot.

I remember everyone loving it in the packed cinema when this first came out. Mrs Bell's "Holy s-it!" raised the roof

Some resemblances to Fleming's novel here though context is different.
