If they damage that Bridge, Starfleet Academy are going to be really pissed off!

This scene always reminds me of the last time I an airship caught me unawares :)) :))

Bond depends completely on May Day's physical prowess...

while Stacey is beautifully framed as an archetypal damsel in distress...

Zorin's blimp uses the same colours as the Goodyear blimp cos they used that for some long shots.

The scene were the airship moves towards Golden Gate bridge is great and so is the music.

In a way it's good that Scarpine is understated... it allows Walken to shine more in their bits together

I also like how the music kicks in when the fight on the bridge starts.

I know that the authorities responsible for the bridge really limited what the Bond team were allowed to do on location, but the final fight does 'undersell' as looking performed on a small stage with all that back projection

Some interesting dialogue between Bond & Stacey in the shower, hard to hear

For me the final shot of the blimp collapsing onto the water doesn’t work. It’s too different from the location.

It's very apropriate to let Moore's Bond bow out in a inapropriate scene with a far too young lady :007)

The old man with the stick of dynamite... he's a bit like a 'bad guy' version of Q. And the way he and Scarpine fumble around, before blowing up, echoes the fate of the helicopter crew in the PTS.

So, farewell to Roger Moore in one of his lesser Bond films.
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent
We still have a couple of his films left to watch

Did anyone see where Higgins went?

Moore gives good service for his lasting outing as Bond. To me, it wasn't so much that he looked tired (he didn't) than that the Glen/Wilson style was starting to seem fatigued.

I like the job title „Damage Artists“
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

But, in retrospect, still entertaining and it’s aged well, considering how badly it was originally received.

    Higgins.... What’s next?

Plenty of good points about this film- Walken, Duran Duran, locations, some good supporting actors. But plenty of poor points, too.

Oh, good! One of my favourites!

Moore is obviously too old even though he does a good job. In spite of the aged cast (and a couple who are comparatibly too young) I think AVTAK has many enjoyable moments. In fact I like it more than his two first Bonds :o

Again, I think that John Glen was the worst thing to happen to the Bond series.

I'm kinda dreading watching OCTOPUSSY now. I watched a recent video for ranking the entire film series where the guy ranked OP as the worst film of the lot and honestly, his comments on the film all made sense.

Contrariwise, it's one of my top Bond films. Go figure :))
