Roger Moore actually did the scene where he uses air from the tyre himself. Sire Rog doing his own stunt!

Is what 007 does with the tyre possible?

Bond and Tibbett slumped in the back of the Rolls... like a pair of old has-been action/adventurers seen off by the 'new wave' villains. A farewell to arms to both Simon Templar/Bond and John Steed...?
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Even Michelin contributed to the production budget!

Yes, Moore says so in the DVD commentary.

Good ol' Gogol. Another pension-age featured actor.

As odd as it sounds, I love the use of the blimp.

But the board room scene is a copy and paste of Goldfinger.

It‘s gonna be difficult though because there is always an amount of water involved that makes you cough

One of his better scenes as Gogol. He has Walken to play against.

This scene is the closest the film gets to Fleming, since it's a rewrite of GF
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 37,866Chief of Staff
    Title drop. The worst.
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent
With different actor than Walken the title drop wouldn't have worked.

I like the howling of the blimp engines.
    Makes it half-dangerous at least

True. Notice the lines don't match his lips at the end? "No-one ever leaves the KGB"

Very close to GF, which was a Hamilton film (but not done as well here). Just as later on, with the comedy cop and the cop cars chasing the fire truck, it seems to call back to similar cop car scenes from the Hamilton/Manckiewicz Bonds of the early 70s.

I think Walken plays Zorin so over the top (and well), so it Works.
