The scientist explaining the chemistry looks like Raoul in DAD - haven't checked to see if it's the same guy

I agree that the opening surface for the helipad is a substandard take on the YOLT volcano concept... but the drama and tension in the lab as Dario thinks he recognises Bond is really good.

He even looks a bit like Connery at the time, on a bad hair day.

Elsie is a British name, N24. I think you'll find that Beethoven had another name in mind... :D

This scene was edited on early releases, too.

The deal with "the Orientals"? Why not "the Asians"?

Kamen's cue for Dalton's "What about the Stingers?" as Sanchez pauses the conveyor... good stuff.

if memory serves, Dalton got injured on this conveyer belt scene. Like his watch got caught or something.

    Yup. Got cut.

Del Torro cut Dalton's hand with his knife.

    Rule Nr. 1 in actionmovies:

    Don‘t do chases with trucks.
No matter how well and realistic you do them, they look lame and boring....

    Use f*cking cars

I think it was Benicio Del Toro's fault and he felt really guilty about it. It's on one of the dvd commentaries.

I do appreciate that Sanchez never questions Dario when Bond gets outed. It's a good character moment.

Very true. "Loyalty is more important to me than money" he said earlier, and he knows Dario is loyal

Though not as bad as Higgins would have liked.

I was just about to say something in that spirit but thought that it would be out of line :D

The whole truck chase sequence is full of invention and excitement. So much going on. One of the best plotted action sequences of the franchise.

The tankers work very well, and it ads a new element to the chase. Another car chase would have fallen flat. The trucks also fit Dalton's macho and direct style.

The action scenes BUILD in LTK. Too few Bond action scenes do that.

Homages to DAF through the truck's wheelie but also in the use of the fire extinguisher (in the truck's cab)

The burning car going over the plane is a good idea, but theyshould have used a camera on a helicopter to get a better shot.
