I like the tension in this scene, and how it seems as if it's Hawkins who's considering taking the bribe.

Yeah, they do a good 'red herring' with that.

Killifer becomes a bit like a reverse version of Angelo in TB. Killifer is impressed by a bribe twice the value of the one he expected to be on offer, whereas Angelo was trying to extort more money out of SPECTRE as payment for his mission. Largo lets Angelo drown in consequence, underwater, while Sanchez's divers assist Killifer as well as Sanchez to safety. Sanchez values loyalty and honour among thieves more than SPECTRE ever did.

Straight Fleming. "He disagreed with something that ate him" (No Della in LALD though)

I'd love to see a full unexpurgated version of the "see you in hell!" scene, but even the edgiest available version is cut down.

I love Dalton's disgust at the witticism as he screws up and throws away the paper.

Perhaps Sanchez thinks living on half eaten and his bride dead is worse than getting killed? Does Fleming say anytihing about this? (reply to Higgins)

I know. I just wondered if Fleming says why Leiter doesn't get kille din LALD

Felix is fed to a shark by a minor villain in the book, not Mr Big

"Hey, Leiter, where ya been?"/"It's Bond... Get an ambulance here quick!" Reminds me of Leiter's call to Bond in his hotel room in GF just after Bond's discovered Jill dead. But here Bond's reaction to what's happened is played with genuine emotional heft.
