The night scenes look better than day scenes IMO. Not so flat

Killifer's "Whoooah!" seems a bit light, given his situation

Opening shot over M's shoulder, as he's stroking the cat... briefly situated him as a surrogate Blofeld figure...

(One of the things I like about this film)

Executed with all the panache of a student film. Guy Hamilton wept.

Disagree, thought it was done ok.

The actor playing Sharkey...he's decent, but his 'yelling' voice is overused. I remember him in LAST ACTION HERO as Slater's boss, always screaming at him at the same register.

Underrated movie, must watch it again soon.

Dalton's approach is what makes it possible for Robert Brown to play such a dramatic scene. A change from his 'old cronies' type of scenes with Roger, Geoffrey Keen at al.

Dalton‘s overacting totally ruins it then

Indeed, Dance would have made for a heck of a Bond villain.

He has a very minor villain part in FYEO

I must agree. Dalton in INTENSE LOOK AT HOW INTENSE I AM OH GOD I'M SO INTENSE mode is kinda laughable. I think he did a much better job of acting in TLD.

It's solely because of his serious dramatic approach that this film was able to go to places the series hadn't been before, including the performances of all the orbital characters sharing scenes with him... If his performance is 'big', well... he was a Shakesperean actor!
