She's a stunning woman. Not a great actress but adequate enough for the role.

I have to say she's not a favourite of mine, though magnificently costumed.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Albert Moses (Sadruddin) previously appeared as a barman in TSWLM. I remember him best as Ranjit from the 1970s sitcom Mind Your Language.

The Sothebys scene is properly Flemingesque.

Yes, pretty much the whole short story is covered here leaving only the title for possible future use. I thought SF was an ideal opportunity, but that didn't happen.

One question to the movie buffs:

Why are surfaces like roads and the tiles around the pool in this example wettened up when shooting?

The butt of Bond's infamous line of later, "That should keep you in curry for a while", Albert Moses was also a regular in Brit sitcom 'Mind Your Language', which was full of such jokes.

Apparently Equity had taken issue with the casting of Vijay, since he wasn't an actor, and the casting of Sadruddin with an actor - essentially splitting Vijay's role between two characters - was meant to mitigate the issue.

the Major seems an overly week character.

Belt buckles with dinner jackets? So much for the dress code!

Apparently he was a sergeant major in Lawrence of Arabia. I don't remember him in it though.

Yes, that makes sense. I suppose Vijay joined later, cos he's in a Star Trek movie too.

Both NSNA and OP, here, give us excellent performances of gaming sequences. Short and sharp. I still prefer either to the drawn out poker game in CR.

I find it interesting that both OP and NSNA had Bond carrying a Walther P5 rather than a PPK.

Oh, and I love the cyclist who casually pedals through the middle of the fight.

A female friend of my sisters was in India and many tuc-tuc drivers were pestering her to get her to take a ride. She refused in the best school English, but they kept on bothering her. In the end she blurted out in desperation: "me no like tuc-tuc, no!" It worked!
