Bond's apparently complete lack of emotion here, over Solange's death... not what we're used to from any previous Bond in a similar situation. Even Connery would emote a little.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
It's as if they were making a point. Not only is this not Q... they were being militantly 'Not Q' about it. Herr Mendel, later on, absorbs some of the light comic manner we're missing from a Q type.

I absolutely love Herr Mendel!
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
I think the train scene was used for screen tests. I suspect the next Bond will be tested with this scene.
A few years ago I was doing a casting session for a short film that I was working on, and one of the actresses came in and did Vesper in the train scene. I was tempted to give her the part right away...but alas, she wasn't the best actress by a long shot.

What if...John Cleese had been retained along with Judi Dench? Can't quite imagine it!

His boyish smile is out of place here

Craig and Greene bounce off each other brilliantly... I wonder what kind of comedy duo they’d make on the stage. Vesper’s analysis of Bond is spot on.

Second suit. He was in linen when he deplaned.
I absolutely love Herr Mendel!

It's very well written.
Okay yes that’s fair, I keep forgetting that poor fitting linen casual suit.
Totally unnecessary, but Omega paid and still pays well!

Would love to have seen her paired with Moore in 73/74, when he would have bundled her into a closet.
She'd have made a fantastic double act with Miss Goodthighs.

Plus Dr Goodhead?
