    Gemma Arterton really well cast.

Surely they would send someone more assertive? She does get better admittedly.

Great cue by Arnold as Bond checks out the hotel room with Fields.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Amalric is ok as sleazy, unconvincing as threatening

The party sequence, with Greene's pompous speech, Camille raining on his parade, Felix glowering from the sidelines, Fields mixing it... this is all very good stuff.

    "My friends call me Dominic"
    "I'm sure they do"

    Great exchange

Fields “Oh My Gosh!!” Brilliant comic delivery....
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

What the hell is the point in Elvis's wig falling off?

Amalric's mad stares are great, and he plays Greene's essential insecurities very well.

This is a poor end for the Mathis character. Built up so well, played superbly. And so not true to Fleming.

Music “Forgive Yourself” echoes of Vesper's theme

A moving scene with Bond and Mathis.

I think Elvis was supposed to be a comic henchman, but like so much else it's shot and edited so badly it doesn't work.

The two biker cops are great casting as corrupt officers.

It’s an action sequence? No a bloodbath.
The penultimate holdover from CR-06. Mathis’s Loss is truly sad.....

I do wonder whether this unsatisfactory final stuff with Mathis was one of the scenes hit by the writers' strike and where Craig and Forster were having to wing the dialogue.

Tim Piggott Smith coming up as the Foreign Secretary... priggishly English but no more moral than Beam.

    "Your mother?"
    "She likes to think so"

And there we have the plot of "Skyfall"- deliberate foreshadowing?

The plane fight is cut to pieces and so is the jump into the sink hole.

The plane fight does include a few longer external shots... but not enough.

Urgh.... and Bond’s psycho analysis starts...

“Your Mother?” “She likes to think so!”

It’s an action sequence? Something involving Planes, suicidal parachuting and dreadful CGI....
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Imagine what a three second wide shot, especuially from above, could have done for the plane fight ....
