Can clearly see Lana’s nipple not sure you could back in the cinema in 1971?

Only an adolescent boy would notice that. So, Yes.

Just keeping abreast of things... the joys of DVD. :D

The stuff at the petrol station is another example of how this movie is prepared to relax enough to just have fun. Moore's movies needed a woman character as feisty as Tiffany.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Klaus Hergescheimer, possibly the same guy Ed Bishop played in YOLT? I like to think so

Up to this point the film has broadly followed Fleming’s novel (Blofeld excepted) but from now on it goes its own way (until the end)

    Ed Bishop UFO
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

I always feel a slight kinship with Klaus Hergesheimer, just because both our surnames end with 'heimer'.

The Marvelous Ed Bishop! Veteran of Capt Scarlet and UFO.

Furst does a great job as the permanently frustrated Metz.

Finally..... Machine that goes ping! The satellite radar gyroscope

Connery and Klaus are every bit as good as Morecambe and Wise.

Music “Moon Buggy Ride” Barry quarrelled with Hamilton over this cue and lost (Hamilton wanted comedy, Barry wanted tension). Barry’s version can be found on the 2003 remaster, after the main score, in “Additional And Alternate Cues”

I love the moon buggy sequences

The way the astronaut attempts to apprehend the sprinting Bond in slow mo is hilarious.

I didn't realise that Barry's moon buggy concept was part of the Additional and Alternate Cues track. I must check that out.

The buggy goes along in a leasurely speed while the cars somehow crash around it. Rubbish.

My explanation for this has always been that space suits are not designed for Earth gravity, and therefore they are heavy and cumbersome things in our gravity conditions, hence why these astronauts don't move with the speed and dexterity one normally expects of a human being.

The casual totalling of 'tin can' 70s cars amidst the dunes is a delight. Barry's score really captures the sense of light fun, here

I remember reading somewhere that Guy Hamilton wanted a lighter touch to DAF after the seriousness of OHMSS

Random moon buggy tire bouncing along...where did that come from?

Makes sense... but it just looks delightfully daft.

Yes, although sometimes too light (and in TMWTGG too)

    James: What?
    Tiffany: Never mind...

Would have been great to have had a fun car chase like this one in SPECTRE
