S.T. Dupont 5172 = 5568?

So I was tooling around Amazon and found this listing:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040NY7QQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00

The listing description says the model is 5172:

So I got excited and order them on Tuesday. But what arrived today came in a box labeled 5568:

And the warranty card is blank. As far as my untrained eye can tell, they look identical to the 5172s. And the seller I purchased from is an authorized S.T Dupont dealer based in Italy. But the model # discrepancy is bothering me.

I hate to be a pain for this seller and request a return (he shipped SUPER fast) but I was expecting 100% screen accurate CR/QoS links. I thought I'd run it by the resident experts here before I do anything. Thoughts?

I think I answered my own question. There's an Ebay listing showing what the 5172s *should* look like. More rows and columns. Back they'll go.

If nothing else I hope this thread helps someone else from making the same mistake.

I wouldn’t be so quick to send them back if I were you!
Bond Lifestyle shows 10 Diamond Heads as per your 5568s

I’ve just checked my 5172s and can confirm they have 10 Diamond Heads.
The 5568s appear to be identical (apart from the box).

Nice find! Enjoy, they’re beautiful cufflinks.

I just pulled up the scene in CR and, from what I can tell from this 1080p screen grab I just took (I'm in an Airbnb so I don't have my 4k disc), it seems like there's more than 10 heads here. Am I crazy?

I count 10 in that photo. (Per row 10x10)

Hrm. I think you're right. I was overcounting a shadow. Maybe the metal on the 5568 is different from the 5172? Do your links have "S.T. Dupont" engraved on the bottom like this:

It’s just the back fastener that changed very slightly. They’re identical otherwise.

Ah! I think I see a real difference. Your hinge point has a visible pin. These don't.

EDIT: was taking pics/uploading before I saw Asp9mm's reply saying the same thing.

EDIT 2: I don't know if I'm going to let this very, very small difference bother me. I paid $280 shipped. Could I get the proper 5172 for about that with patience? What do they usually go for?

I know the image on the jamesbondlifestyle site shows 10 rows but if you look at images of the cufflinks in Casino Royale they show more than 10 rows. The 5568 are an a completely different model although very similar.

EDIT: I see you've already noticed the differences :D

The image from Casino Royale and Bond Lifestyle and checking my own 5172s all concur that there are 10 rows x 10.
The 5568s are exactly the same (apart from a very minor difference on the clasp).

I’d be VERY wary of that pair shown on eBay... !!

The screen used ones 100% have ten rows and are identical. Again, except for the swivel plate on the ones post 2012-ish.

Good price, and looks identical enough to 5172.. I would wear and enjoy them.

Well, it seems only one person on this forum knew what the difference was. And that’s probably an improvement or they wouldn’t have done it. I’d wear them and enjoy them. Nobody is going to care that the box back at home has a different serial number on it to those worn by James Bond in a film 14 years ago!
