Be careful your wife doesn't see it!

Actually I‘ve offered to get it for her.
But now it‘s long sold out.

    Your wallet will be grateful!

These high tech, well designed evil lairs. I mean, who do you farm out this work to? Do you hire an architecture firm and then kill them all when the work is completed? What about the dry-wall installers who are just trying to make a buck?

And who are you building all of this for? Why overly design everything when it's not for show anyways...wouldn't it all be functional rather than overly designed?

you would have fired Ken Adam :))

Waltz underplays the villain - not in a good way. But his main problem is that he's been handed a fanwank script, and one which fans don't actually like!
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Yes, he already levelled with Madeleine about what passed between himself and her father. I know he wants to protect her from the trauma of actually having to see it, but he does go OTT.

The torture scene is adapted from "Colonel Sun". Amis gets a credit.

Does the scene play out the same way in the book?

Not quite, but he does recover unreasonably quickly just like here then run around killing the bad guys.

I don't understand why the effect on Bond's memory that Blofeld claims his incision will make doesn't actually have that effect. It feels like a cheat. Bond isn't superhuman. Or are we supposed to believe that it's the power of love that helps him to overcome brain damage?

Bond shooting the smattering of SPECTRE guys in the distance...very much a video game aesthetic.

Superb explosion, with Bond and Madeleine in the foreground.

Bond's "It's not over yet" has the same function as "Don't go away!" before the coda to FRWL.

to be fair, he does say 'if we hit the right spot...'. As such, I took it that he was just off enough not to ruin his memory.

I took it like he was toying with Bond until he decided to get the right spot.
