Suit for dinner party

Hi all,
My girlfriend's parents are inviting me over to dinner at their house for the first time, and I'd like to wear a Craig-era suit. I'm in my 20s and would prefer not to look too ostentatious (especially since I live on the US West Coast, where clothing is relatively casual).
Assuming you had access to any Craig-era suit, what would the clothing experts at AJB recommend? Thanks!

Are you thinking of buying a Tom Ford suit, or just dressing in a Bond-style suit? If the former, it's a potentially lengthy (and not inexpensive) process - you haven't mentioned when the invitation is for, so the latter may be more realistic.
How formal will the occasion be? DC has worn a number of slightly less formal, pale suits which might make sense in the heat of the West Coast, such as the suit he wears on arrival at the Bahamas in Casino Royale, with an open-necked shirt.
Edit: I've just spotted another thread on this very subject so perhaps this one could be closed.
