school run (ad)vantage

Lot of debate pondering if 007 has kids in NTTD...but may have blown his cover on the school run in rainy London this afternoon.

Forgot to use the undercover plates again, James?!

Will never not be a thrill seeing these gorgeous cars in the wild.

Those plates probably cost more than my car. :#

I'm still waiting to see the Aston Martin the has the plate BMT 216A. That's how you know it's a real James Bond fan, not a pretender.

It's probably on a Hyundai Elanta because the owner couldn't afford anything else after paying for the plate!

I just Googled to see what Fiats have been in the James Bond films, and I found proclamations of horror at the rumour that James Bond was going to drive a Fiat in Spectre! It would have been a hoot if he actually did drive a Fiat in that scene with this plate!

So we can get a Fiat 500 and say, we've got a Bond car ;)

That plate is registered to a perhaps a not entirely unexpected make and model of car. Although it hasn’t got an MOT! Very low mileage though.

(In gruff mechanic voice) "Naahh.. Your car's failed the MOT mate. On loads of stuff. To name just a few, your passenger seat's not secured properly. You've got a major oil and water leak coming out the back, your bumper's loose, as are your wheel nuts.. Ain't gonna be cheap to put it all right mate...

It's quite funny if you search for the Bond cars on there: Pierce's DB5 registration never existed, and whilst B549 WUU is listed as a grey Aston V8 Vantage, I know it's now on a different non-Bond car which is a replica of the TLD film one! Roger's red Lotus plate is now on a Blue Lotus Esprit which is on the road (why buy the plate if the car is the wrong colour!?), whilst the plate from his white FYEO Lotus is listed as being on a bronze one(!).
Pierce's Z8 has an MOT which has only just run out (so is it on the road somewhere? It has over 7,000 mileage so isn't in a museum by the looks of it), and his Vanquish only ran out in February, although with only 277 miles on the clock!

Our family car at the moment is an old and not entirely reliable Land Rover Defender, which I guess sort of counts as a Bond car given that the villains drive them in Casino Royale, and Moneypenny drives one in Skyfall.

Don't forget James Bond himself owns one in No Time To Die! Although I'm guessing his is a bit older than yours :)

Plus Tim Dalton jumps all over in Living Daylights- I'd say it's a proper Bond car!

Our Defender is relatively old, dating back to 1998...but that's probably why it keeps failing its MOT over and over again... :))

I'd definitely say so- not forgetting its cameos in Quantum of Solace and Spectre as well...

I'd say you're safe then: James' is older than yours!

(I know, technically his isn't a Defender but a Series III, but there's not a world of difference really!)

Todays London AM sighting involved a DB bride, or possibly Colonel Bouvar, sweeping by in this beauty.

Is that Baker Street? I've seen a couple of DB5s going down there too; also Knight Rider, the Beast (as in belonging to POTUS), a golden Royal Carriage, many supercars... all sorts of things turn up! :)

It is indeed. Just opposite 221.

Ah yes. It's one of the quickest routes from the American Ambassador's residence on Regent's Park to old US Embassy/Piccadilly/Westminster etc so you often get lots of escorted vehicles on that run. Never spotted a golden Royal Carriage there though. Chapeau!
