I was reading about Michael Caine on IMDB this week and I remembered he had worked in TV roles in his early years, including a few parts in Dixon of Dock Green. I also read about his brother Stanley who appeared alongside him in a few films including The Italian Job, for some reason Stanley's acting career came to end after The Italian Job and I am surprised he had difficulty finding roles. His life after seemed like a real contrast to his brother Michael/Maurice and he want back to work in Selfridge's furniture department.
Considering Stanley's famous brother it seems a real shame his own acting career never took on.

I have also noticed that since Michael Caine became famous for film roles he had no more TV work, apart from a Jack The Ripper TV movie in the late 80s (that gave a totally unbeliveable theory). I wonder if film actors such as Michael Caine and Sean Connery were too expensive for TV producers to hire, or whether they just wanted to stay in films
