I see that and raise him one.

Here is my Xmas list recently unearthed, for kids from the 1970s it may ring a bell of sorts.

If some of you recall, they called it 'catalogues' - a word to hook you in. :x

As I sense you're Bond fans, here's a taste of what you might have been after in your Christmas sack...



To be fair, I'm not sure the Aston Martin DB5 really suits the beach, though of course Lazenby's DB7 (what it that?) saw some beach action in the pmts of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. This would have been a Corgi catalogue from 1979/80. Odd how the Connery films still held sway with kids who would have better loved the Moore films and Moore iconography derived from his debut Live And Let Die film.

Not that Bond was the only 60s derivative spy in Corgi catalogues But does anyone remember these vehicles from the 1970s New Avengers series? I can't.



They kind of look great though, and would be going for around £400 on eBay now I reckon...

It's all about covet-ness (can't spell that at this late stage of night) but it's how as a kid you really really want...

What a great trip down memory lane! I had a few of those as a kid - the Aston and the Lotus, but also the UFO, Thunderbirds and (I think) the Space1999 Eagle transporter. I also had a model kit of Purdey's yellow TR7 from the New Avengers, like this one, rather than a Dinky:
