I think 'ostinato' was John Barry's favourite word. He was a master at writing and using ostinati.

I'm a bit late to this (I haven't gotten used to the new website yet), but thank you Barbel and Warren for the fascinating interview!

Not sure where/if it's being discussed as couldn't find it but just wanted to post here that I am very sorry to hear Q The Music will be no more. The Bond world will be poorer without them and I wish Warren and the guys, all the very best!🍸️

What? First I've heard about that. Very sad if it's accurate.

Had the email arrive in my inbox last night. I can post Warren's statement here (if appropriate), but don't want to speak out of turn, as I see there is no announcement on their website yet.

You could send him a PM or site email if you like, but it's up to you.

I just checked- it's public knowledge, he's posted it on Facebook. Sad to hear this, but it's completely understandable.

Yes, such a shame, but as you say, completely understandable. They'll be missed.

don't know if this is the reason, but a lot of musicians struggled financially over the last year because of covid and the inability to preform at gigs. Q the Music looked like a big band and I imagine it would be difficult to keep a band that big together even under normal circumstances.

thats a great loss. I'd love to see a tribute band that specialised in James Bond music, and they seemed to really know their stuff.

Your point about musicians struggling over the last year or so is very true. If the Covid had struck before my pension kicked in (and at the same time my mortgage was paid off) I would have had no work and been in very difficult circumstances.
