I ask again: Should we start planning for a Pink Panther watchalong?

  • Golrush007Golrush007 South AfricaPosts: 3,421Quartermasters

I am keen...For me it's preferable to watch on a Friday or Saturday but it's not too big a deal if it's on a different day. I'll just struggle to make it if the watchalong time is later than 8PM GMT.

    As ever, count me in.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,424MI6 Agent

Great. Golrush007's post is in fact helpful because it helps is settle the time and day. I'd like to see more people respond.

Fridays and Saturdays are a bit awkward for me - Friday with friends, and Saturday out with the missus. Of the two, Friday would be preferable as my friends won't give me the cold shoulder if I stay in and watch the film with you 😁

Sorry for the radio silence guys, Fridays and Sundays work best for me.

Incidentally, with YOLT, MKR, and DAD in the Bond vault, could we expand into Sci fi a bit as well?

As well as Bond, Star Wars, Alien and a few others in the genre have shared actors and crew

    with Bond. 😊

This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

    Sci-fi? Interesting suggestion.

Friday seems to emerge as the most likely weekday for a watchalong. Please keep posting your wishes and preferences for days and time, but I'm releasing a test baloon (is that a Norwegianism?) right now:

How do members feel about a Pink Panther watchalong on a Friday at 8 PM GMT?

  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 38,077Chief of Staff

I feel just fine about that.

  • Golrush007Golrush007 South AfricaPosts: 3,421Quartermasters

8AM...In the morning? The Pink Panther will go nicely with my scrambled eggs...But my employers won't be to pleased 🤔

Is it just me @Barbel or is that Pink Panther looking distinctly sexy ... what's he been doing, I ask... 😉

  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 38,077Chief of Staff

I asked him, but he wouldn't say....

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,424MI6 Agent

I did mean 8 PM GMT. Sorry.

    I'm changing it now.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,424MI6 Agent

I need more feedback on the suggestion of watching Pink Panther on a Friday at 8 PM GMT. Please post. 🙏

I just changed the title of the thread to attract more members to offer their opinions on the time and weekday. Is the proposed time and weekday just right for you? Please post and say so. 😊

Are you interested in a watchalong, but you need another time and weekday? Please let is know. 😊

  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 38,077Chief of Staff

    I am of course interested.

Hi all, for me Friday evenings are okay and The Pink Panther sounds fun...

Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Now we are four confirmed partisipants. Great! More members are very much welcome to join us.

  • Golrush007Golrush007 South AfricaPosts: 3,421Quartermasters

@Number24 has a specific date for the watchalong been chosen yet?

I am unexpectedly going to be away on Friday the 24th, so if the watchalong happens then I will unfortunately have to bow out.

And on the following Friday, 1st October, I will be out watching NTTD so I’ll be equally unavailable.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,424MI6 Agent

    No fate is set yet.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,424MI6 Agent

    That's a "fateful" typo! 🤣

Also, no date is set yet.

I canna do the 1st or 8th of October - I am going on Hols for a week next day, so will be packing and stacking camping equipment, on the 1st, then packing up and prepping to come home on the 8th. But keep me in the loop for other dates. :)

It just occured to me that we should do this before NTTD hits the cinemas. Our attention and evenings will be occupied for about two to three weeks then I think. But the only Friday left is the upcoming one - the 24th. Golrush007 can't do it then, and that's very unfortunate.

Should we do the NTTD release date thing and push it forward to mus to late October? Or can we for the watchalong into NTTD season, maybe October 8. or 15.? Please speak your mind!

  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 38,077Chief of Staff

I'm ok with any choices. Retirement has advantages!

  • Shady TreeShady Tree London, UKPosts: 3,013MI6 Agent

Speaking personally, the NTTD release will be a "distraction for an hour or two" - hopefully a "sweet" one - but otherwise it shouldn't affect my availability for a watchalong.

Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
