Sellers obviously makes this movie what it is. Little details in his performance, like when he inadvertently scratches the prefect of police's nose are so great.
I like the way in which Sellers gives Clouseau his French accent but without - in this movie - sending up that accent, as he does later in the franchise.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
The way in which Dala humiliates Sir Charles over dinner, questioning his manhood, and the way in which Niven deftly parries the insult before curtly making his excuses... it's almost Flemingesque... Reminds me of Craig's first scene with Eva Green in CR, or Moore and Scaramanga over lunch.

Simone's feelings with regard to Jacques are somewhat enigmatic. She uses and cuckolds him, but I can't help sensing a grudging liking of him on her part, too; she's scarcely warmer towards Sir Charles and obviously has a lower opinion of the Robert Wagner character.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Mancini has a lot to do with keeping the bedroom scenes jaunty and amusing.
I dare to say, that with Ustinov, it would have been only one movie

imo Cardinale looks a bit too old for a virgin princess

I agree.

Here he's about the same age that Moore was in FYEO, Connery in NSNA, and Craig is now.
Niven‘s facial expressions very similar to Moore ❤️

But looks significantly older than Moore and Craig
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
The scene in TSWLM when Anya falls asleep in the back of the van and wakes up to find herself on Bond's shoulder, Moore's mannerisms are 100% Niven.
Just before someone asks: I can‘t id the watch
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Though he didn't change much for the next 10 or so years.

How is it going, Higgins? Is it all falling apart in my absence?
🤣🤣🤣
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
I also try to tame Mrs. Higgins by playing a violin - never works 🤣🤣
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Yes, and sometimes too much
I love how the bed scene is framed with only the foot of the bed in shot.
You're lucky- I play double bass!!!
Later, the just opened door hits Sellers in the back. Always cracks me up!
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
cold feet, if you know how it is, you are married 🤣🤣
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
Sellers' vocal reactions to Capucine's cold feet crack me up every time
You are missing a good film and an enjoyable time.
Clouseau's violin is allegedly a Stradivarius, like Kara Milovy's Lady Rose in TLD. Doesn't sound as good though.
For a change, Barbel doesn‘t close threads and bans people….

Clouseau standing on the violin 😂😂😂
"When you've seen one Stradivarius, you've seen them all" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Cardinale tipsy is very cute!
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
She does that very well... a highlight of the film!
My wife bites her lips when she was drinking too much as well
