This will be my 11 year old son's first Bond movie in the cinema. So my wife and I are taking him to see an early screening (Oct 6) in IMAX. I vividly remember seeing my first Bond film in the cinema (Moonraker) with my late dad, so I kind of feel he'll be there with us. As much as I'd love to be part of the celebrations going on everywhere, the chance to share the experience with my son is something far more important to me.
Of course I fully intend to go see it again by myself very soon after so I can watch it without anyone asking me questions, the need for bathroom breaks or requests for more popcorn 😁
We're heading to The Scotsman Picturehouse in Edinburgh on Sat. It's a small art deco style cinema with circa 40 seats. Never been here before but have heard great things. Just keeping my fingers crossed that the screen and sound do the film justice.
I will be watching No Time To Die at the Roxy Cinema in Wellington, which is owned by Peter Jackson. It's a black tie event and they will be showing old bond trailers beforehand, which will be fun.

At the VIP Lincoln Grand Theatre, in Lincoln Illinois - my birthplace and former home town (I live on five acres of timber in the country about ten miles away now) ...
The same theatre (after major renovations and three incarnations) in which I saw my first Bond, DAF, on the big screen at age nine. So, there's the poetic sense of closing a circle here.

Well, here it is, nice and early and a lovely nighttime walk up Whitehall to get here.
The Odeon has a nice Circle bar, but as I'm not drinking for a few weeks that's rather lost its appeal. Some punters have dressed appropriately in tuxes for the occasion.many martinis are being drunk. Atmosphere jovial. Quite pensive too I feel. Well, we shall see...
Thanks for sharing that. My father took me to my first Bond film (actually films, it was a double bill of Dr. No and Goldfinger) in 1964 at the Beach Theater in Atlantic City, NJ. The Beach was a good old 1200 seat 1st run theater with a balcony probably built in the 1920's. The first Bond film I took my son to in a theater was Tomorrow Never Dies. Taking your child to their first Bond film is like a spiritual right of passage for a Bond Fan.

Where ever you watch NTTD I hope it lives up to your expectations and you have an enjoyable evening.
For me it will be another six months or so of waiting as I will be watching it when it comes out on DVD.

Cinema staff have got all the bond theme songs playing, around 20 others here.
Here we go!
