DC’s Actual Tactical Boot

With all of the attention on Danner, it reminded me that we should be able to ID DC’s “operational” tactical boots from his QOS stunt work.

Now, they can call it a training or hiking boot, but Adidas’ GSG9 series is well established in the tactical community.

Certainly looks like the Adidas GSG-9.2 boots. I have not had any foot-time in those boots, but I did own the OG GSG9 boots back in the days. They were some of the most comfortable shoes I have worn, even till today.

Fun fact: The Adidas GSG9 tactical boots was worn by Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 3 as his stunt shoes, and also by Delta Force operators in Black Hawk Down.

The original GSG9's were the simplest and best-looking design IMO. I missed that iteration in my career and I'm told the soles wore fairly quickly.

The 9.2's are narrow, which caused me a bit of sizing trial and error. I think they've lost some of their mystique now that there are combat-tested options aplenty since 2001.
