Difference between Black Friday Sale and Boxing Day sale

Hey guys as i am in asia and not to aware on the tradition on sale days in Uk and USa i would like to know which one usually has more discount ?

Seeing sunspel and a few brands already on sale for 10 - 25% because of black friday, would that mean these stores wont be on sale for Boxing Day ? or would it mean more discount during Boxing Day ?

Sorry to ask this guys , just wanted to know the sale tradition so i can prepare budget to either shop now or later

    Hi Hart,

In the UK at least Black Friday and Cyber Monday are pretty new things (originated in the US). Traditionally, we would never have any sort of sale before Christmas and Sales would start on Boxing Day or New Years Day. There would generally be another Sale period around Bank Holiday in May and then another around June/July (Summer Sale). Having Black Friday/Cyber Monday events pre-Christmas as well as post Christmas traditional Sales, gives retailers two bites at the cherry, two swings at the ball.

I know in Europe some countries, such as Italy start their New Year sales after 6th January (Epiphany) but I think things are starting to change there now too, due to more desperation from retailers for sales and general commercialism.

Some retailers are pretty unscrupulous in the prices they offer, in that some items (TV's, White Goods in particular) placed in their headline Sales, Black Friday or otherwise were cheaper at some point during the year or prices were inflated for a set period prior to the Sale and then reduced for Sales Events and Black Friday to make it look like a great deal. By law (in the UK at least), I believe they are required to show previous prices of the items in the small print.

There are great deals to be had of course and I think the luxury brands do offer genuine discounts during Sales events, but I know brands like Sunspel, Dents have three or four Sales events per year.

Generally speaking though, I would say post Christmas Sales are likely to be as good, if not better than pre Christmas Sale events.

    You're very welcome my friend.

Yep. Post means after😉 No guarantee they'll have any further reduction after Christmas of course, usually a bit of a lottery.

The 15% code for N Peal posted by @SauceBoss (code GFTNP15), still currently works, including the 007 items. You rarely get any more than that off, so probably worth buying now.
